    That is still the case, but #Democrats came to realize in the past weeks (especially after a lackluster #debate performance), that #electability would be an issue if #Biden stayed in.

    They were seeing a situation where 2016 was repeating itself: a top of the ticket #candidate that would likely push enough people to not vote in the #election, opening the way for #Trump to win.

    There is good reason to think the #Republicans can lose in 2024, and that some other candidate, cough #Youngkin cough, would be more electable. Reasonable people are baffled Republicans won't forsake #Trump.

    But #electability isn't a concern for #Repubican primary voters, who believe that Joe Biden is #demented and keeps falling down, and believe the #BigLie that Biden already lost to Trump in 2020.
