As would families when one of their members threatens harm and exhibits increasingly concerning behavioural patterns akin to #Dementia diseases such as Frontal Lobe, Lewy Body etc.
Family members in this instance could be held to account for #ElderAbuse , especially when benefiting financially. -

CW: An Eastgate/Anderson Township (Cincinnati) Ohio nursing home patient died of natural causes — until the coroner called it homicide after daughters persistence in getting his death looked at
Images shows he was strangled to death. The nursing home, hospice, nor funeral home did anything, nor notify the coroner.
The patient called 911 several times leading up to his death.
A daughter documented strangulation marks around her fathers neck, both in days leading up to his death, before being transfer from the abusive nursing home to hospital, and at the funeral home.
The 138-bed nursing home, Forest Hills Healthcare Center, on Moran Road near the Clermont County line, had 83 complaints in the last three years that resulted in only one citation and maintained its above-average quality ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

My uncle was discharged from the hospital to rehab with a urinary catheter in place. The rehab was supposed to remove it. It still hadn't been removed a week later.
For a week, I asked why it hadn't yet been removed.
I finally got an answer yesterday: the doctor wanted to "wait until he's a little more ambulatory" before removing it.

My dad just called to ask for his computer's admin password. He fell for yet another fraudulent #Paypal charge #scam and gave the scammer access to his computer. The scammer was stopped by the fact that I've revoked Dad's admin rights for just this reason.
He has fallen repeatedly for this scam and others like it. We keep telling him it's a scam. We keep telling him to call us before calling any number he gets in an email. He keeps falling for it. It's infuriating.

I have founded a group for abuse survivors (of past or present abuse) and those who question whether they were or are experiencing or witnessing abuse or coercive control or undue influence or someone is using power over them and retaliating against them when they don't "behave".
I myself survived childhood sexual abuse, incest, abuse by a cult, my therapist, psychiatry nurses, sibling, friends, queerplatonic partner/girlfriend, roommate and harrassment from a nazi neighbor plus landlords. I kinda got a bad start to life (in germany) and then people tended to make it worse instead of helping me or they took advantage of me.
So I learned a lot about what does and doesn't help!
And I want to help you out, whether you went through something you fear no one will believe or be able to stomach hearing about, or you think it was probably nothing and you overreact. You don't overreact! Nothing is too small to be worth talking about.
I'm making a space to have a warm, supportive, good vibes atmosphere that we co-create together. We'll help each other grow and see through confusions and distortions of the truth and gain more agency, to make choices, decisions and do stuff and have an impact on the world.
We'll also have fun and laugh and cry and eat cookies and discover what it's like to argue with someone who doesn't slice you to ribbons emotionally.
Anyone is welcome regardless of age, gender, ability, neurotype, location or background. I just ask that you help make the group a good space, be that by complaining when everyone else is too polite to say anything or by listening or by sharing. Please don't worry that by joining you'll take up too much space or take resources away from someone who might need them more — you ARE our space and our resources!
The first step is, once we have at least a handful of people, to decide when and how often to meet.

Then, according to a witness who saw her in the dock, 'her nose began to bleed'.
Yet only a few years before, Evgeniya Mayboroda had been an ardent fan of Russian leader Vladimir Putin and had celebrated his annexation of Crimea.
A photo taken in the court in Shakhty shows her shock as the sentence was pronounced -- her punishment held up as an example of what can happen to even model citizens if they question the war.
Mayboroda -- who comes from the Rostov region bordering Ukraine -- was accused of sharing 'false information' on the Russian army on social media and of 'making a public appeal to commit extremist activities'.
Even before she was convicted in January 2024, the posts on her social media feed -- thick with pictures of cats and flowers -- had put her on the Russia's 'terrorist and extremist' watchlist.
Curious to discover how a pro-Kremlin pensioner could so quickly become an enemy of the state, AFP tracked her down to a penal colony where she said her faith and prayers were sustaining her.
We also talked to those who know her and were able to piece together a picture of this unlikely rebel, whose strange story says much about today's Russia."

"The Center looked at how far senior citizens will have to travel to apply for benefits. For millions it will be a journey.
Nearly 6 million seniors live more than 46.6 miles, roundtrip, from a field office, per the analysis of agency and Census Bureau data. (See their data.)
They picked that distance threshold because it's twice the average distance (23.3 miles) an elderly person travels in a day, according to National Household Transportation Survey data that the Center cites.Those in rural areas face the longest journeys:
In Alaska, 46% of seniors live more than 46.6 miles from an office, per the analysis. (An estimated 60,000 in the state have no internet access; some live hundreds of miles away from the nearest office.)
In North Dakota, 13,000 seniors live more than 180 miles roundtrip from a field office.The distances tracked by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities are 'as the crow flies,' meaning they mapped a straight line; actual travel distances will be longer.
Where it stands: The agency, in an internal memo viewed by Axios, acknowledged cutting off phone service could drive as many as 85,000 people per week to its already backlogged field offices.
They will have to make an appointment by phone — where service is already constrained by long hold and callback times.
The changes were only announced recently and have been rushed. The process has been 'a really big mess,' says Jill Hornick, a service representative at an agency office outside Chicago.

"Homeowners who say their houses are being destroyed by unsuitable insulation are missing out on measures to fix it as the work was carried out too long ago.
The government has found a 'serious systemic' issue in homes fitted with insulation under two of its own schemes since 2022 – and ordered installers to put it right.
But that won't include 93-year-old Margaret Chappell whose work was done in 2021 and now her house is consumed by damp, black mould and crumbling plaster.
The government said it would keep other schemes under review but Mrs Chappell said she and other residents were being ''ignored'.
'It's as if we don't exist. It's appalling,' added Mrs Chappell, who has lived in her home in County Durham for 60 years.
She and 153 of her neighbours in the town of Chilton had solid wall insulation fitted after Durham County Council advised them to take advantage of a free government scheme.
They were told the work would help make their homes warmer and lower their energy bills. But Mrs Chappell, who suffers from chronic asthma, said that since then, damp has consumed her living room.
Her wallpaper has peeled off and the plaster behind it is saturated and crumbling.
'I don't want to be sitting here, breathing in this dust,' she said."
