Diese Woche habe ich #elantris von #brandonsanderson zu Ende gelesen. Auf Empfehlung eines Bekannten und ich bin absolut begeistert. Ich fürchte, da könnte sich ein neuer Lieblingsautor herauskristallisieren. 😅
Das nächste Buch #sturmklaenge bzw. #warbreaker ist schon auf dem Weg zu mir.

Resale shop find. Never heard of this book or author. $1.80. Seems to have good reviews and people seem to like it because it's not just the first of 9 future books. It's a one shot fantasy novel.

I wonder how many other folks out there have both worked in/with data centers and enjoyed the book #elantris... so that "kolo" (Galladon asking "understand?" or "you with me?") and the term "colo" (colocation center) are forever linked.

#Elantris - Brandon Sanderson.
Warum hat das noch keiner verfilmt eigentlich?
Ich würde ne Trilogie nehmen und dann ein paar SpinOff-Serien, z.B. über die Mönche. Oder als "Sequel" die Stadt Elantris zu ihrer Blütezeit.
Aber gerne erstmal die Geschichte des Romans. Das wäre ein schöner Anfang.

@PixelBandits @matthewclan reminds me of Brandon Sanderson and #Elantris. It's a REALLY good story and the first he published as part of the #Cosmere but even he says not to start with it as it's not his best writing. I read it and enjoyed it myself, but I did read the original #Mistborn trilogy first.

I'll respond with both #scifi and #fantasy as the distinction can sometimes be blurry.
I'm a huge fan of the #EartseaCycle by #UrsulaKLeGuin
Other favorite authors include #NeilGaiman #PhilipKDick #AlfredBester #GeneWolfe #NealStephenson & #OrsonScottCard
#IsaacAsimov and #RobertAHeinlein were great & prolific writers with fantastic characters and plots, but it can be difficult to get past their sexism.
I just finished #Elantris by #BrandonSanderson which was excellent
