Well, what we learnt last night is that the auto-exposure mode on the ELP 4K U3 camera is absolutely boggins and further, dripping the slurry cherry onto the mud cake, that the manual exposure mode does not work properly at all.
Which means you either have "far too dark" (manual mode) or "too dark with minor control adjustments and random flickers as it apparently doesn't have hysteresis on its auto-adjustments" (auto mode). Oh and because you've adjusted things upwards to make the night visible, when the sun comes up, it's basically an entirely white frame.
Bloody nonsense. And only two "good" meteors too. Thanks Perseids!

pretty cool to see how the #meshcore mesh in new mexico essentially spans the whole state from el paso and juárez in the south to almost the #colorado border.
pity there is such desolation at the NM/CO border. its a long way to get to pueblo or any other populous area. if we can hop to colorado springs, we likely would connect through to #denver.

Pictures at an Exhibition performed live by Emerson, Lake & Palmer was the album that brought me back to classical music at about age 15.
Written for the #piano, it was famously orchestrated by #Ravel. I've heard it performed once and have several versions on mp3. Perennial favorite! 👍
At the top level it is Mussorgsky's emotional journey as he walks around an exhibition of artwork by his recently deceased friend Viktor Hartmann. But there are captions for most/all of the works, so it is also a recursive tale with stories within stories. 🙂
Some of the original art is lost, so the musical renditions are all we have left. 🙁

Today is the 10-year anniversary of keyboardist Keith Emerson's death. I consider myself lucky to have seen ELP at Selland Arena in Fresno when they were touring Brain Salad Surgery.
While many protégée kids can knock out Vivaldi at 8YO, Emerson could slay on his Hammond organ with his left hand and simultaneously blow the entire world's musical minds on his Moog synthesizer with his right hand. His skills were SUPERHUMAN!
His gravesite in Lancing, West Sussex, England.

Now that I’ve again got a working cassette player, I’ve been listening to Emerson, Lake & Palmer #ELP Works, from 1977. At the time, I don’t think I appreciated they were a ‘super group’ - from #TheNice, #KingCrimson & #AtomicRooster.
Not heard these tapes for decades, yet I still know every lyric, and Greg Lake’s vocals still have the ability to make me go weak at the knees. #music -
