    For #BlackHistoryMonth, I'm introducing African deities in my daily god toots. #Ekwensu is a trickster spirit of the #Igbo people, serving as the #Alusi of bargains and the tortoise. Crafty at trade and negotiations he is often invoked for guidance in difficult mercantile situations. With the rise of Christianity, the beneficent aspects of Ekwensu were supplanted by missionaries who came to represent him as #Satan.
