Damn, I was hoping for better news.
Turlough was a star on the #EJC2023 site team in Poland, working himself to the bone at times - despite our numerous requests for him to take it a bit easier.

So long #Lublin it has been a joy!
I am now on a fancy (much more modern than the one I arrived on) intercity train to Kraków Główny leaving behind an almost deserted #EJC2023 site.
The team have been superstars - a great and familiar site; a supportive city helped, but to pull off a #EuropeanJugglingConvention in 100 days is incredible.

Something unexpected at #EJC2023 - the number of children (under 10) wearing the promotional t-shirts for the last European Juggling Convention that was held in Ireland (2014).
These t-shirts were distributed in 2013 - 14 and are still looking good! -

A warning to anyone travelling through Poland on train on Saturday 29.07
There will be a lot (possibly more than a thousand) of additional passengers **with a lot of baggage** travelling to #Lublin. Most will be coming from the #Warszawa direction.
Be patient with these lovely folk heading to #EJC2023
Baggage will be both camping equipment and circus props!

Reminder for #EJC2023 attendees - in Poland you have a platform (advertised on the screens) and a track (tor).
You may need to double check the track number with staff or paper timetables, especially if the train is running late, so not yet up on the track screens that indicate next departing trains.

The benefits of having pre-specified and then also pre-written your code to do the analysis prior to the data bring released.
All my advance #rstats code and #QuartoPub formatting means that colleagues can spend the time figuring out the contextual interpretation of the findings while I head of to a park in Poland to have fun with a bunch of jugglers at #EJC2023
Running the code took less than five minutes, so really useful for tight deadlines after data is released. -

My first dip into using #QuartoPub for creating a book (rather than shorter formats) is going to be creating an information book for crew of #EJC2023
I am trying to group it into coherent sections that could be easily updated from one year to the next and to embed #leaflet maps of the site and surrounding areas.
How non html formats cope with the leaflet stuff without additional wrangling will be interesting.

The 45th European Juggling Convention will take place in Gormanston, Co. Meath, Ireland 🤩🎪🥳
29 July - 6 August 2023.
"The EJC is a nine-day juggling and circus convention open to people of all abilities and experience. There will be a wide range of workshops and shows, as well as talks and a parade."

Really cool to see the next edition of the European Juggling Convention here, @EJC.
The EJC is the biggest gathering of jugglers in the world. I went almost every year from 2001 until a few years ago. It's such a special experience, whether you already juggle or not.
And I'm sure the Irish team will knock it out of the park. Still have great memories of Millstreet 2006.

CW: European Juggling Convention 2023 in Gormanston
Once again involved in bringing the EJC (and associated circus skills shenanigans) to Ireland next summer.
I was previously involved in running the #EJC in Millstreet Co Cork (in 2006 & 2014).The original plan was for #EJC2023 to be in Punchestown, but it's still unavailable. So instead there'll be 9ish days of fun & games in #Gormanston from July 29 to August 6 2023.
Plans are afoot.
