Our Sunday allotment trip was a mixed affair today.

It was very pleasant in the sun and we got a lot done.

But my strimmer motor burnt out - I was wondering what the smell was!

I'm increasingly unimpressed with Einhell tools. This is the second strimmer of theirs that's died. The other one seems to be a relay that's not working, but how to get into the gubbins?

I've hurt the card and ordered a DeWalt replacement. Hopefully paying for a quality tool will save money in the long term (ha!)
The charger and batteries were a significant extra cost.
But the strimmer does get a lot of hard use there.

It's only money....

I can even charge my notebook with the power tool batteries now 😎 and also my @pine64 #pinecil works via the #SW3518.

Now I just need to find out how to charge the batteries without the clumsy #Einhell chargers... 🤔

Auch noch auf Deutsch mit #askfedi_de und etwas mehr Hintergrundinfos: Ich möchte eine Powerbank aus #Einhell-Akkus bauen. Diese soll auch Laden können, leider funktioniert das mit dem angedachten Lademodul noch nicht. Falls jemand eine Idee hat, warum die Akkus nicht einfach Laden, gerne her damit. Es liegt immer Spannung an den beiden Polen an und das Lademodul zeigt den SOC auch an. Es erhöht aber nicht auf eine Ladespannung und alle 4 LEDs beginnen zu blinken.

I wanted to charge them with this kind of charger module, marketed as #PD45W: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/365962537770

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. While the SOC indication seems correct, neither charging nor discharging works and I wonder why. Discharging with an #SW3518 module works without problems.
