  1. The more I learn about Max Stirner the more I wish he could have been in a Jubilee debate video

    Any fucking topic

And it's just "Why do you have to appeal to some abstract value to justify your position?"

With the debater just getting endless more frustrated

It'd be the most entertaining shit ever

    Seriously Jubilee make it happen.

  2. @AlexanderKingsbury yes that's usually the answer of #rich people: no answer, they just care about themselves X-D and it's exactly this kind of #money induced #egoism that will destroy #mankind X-D

  3. RE: planetearth.social/@aboutzoos/

#Humans and #evolution are an often debated topic: Do they live for #egoism/#selfishness to maximize their own and their families' #success, and thus are constantly #competing? Does humanity, through its constant drive for #competition, ultimately hinder itself, or is the secret to human success its capacity for #cooperation? It seems to be both, but I fear with a tendency toward the former. But read the essay by J. R. Goodman (2026).

  4. #AynRand’s original introduction to The Virtue of Selfishness is now online--and it directly contradicts most of the claims people make about her #ethics.

If your picture of Rand comes from social media threads, YouTube rants, or second-hand “hot takes,” this is the text that breaks the spell.

Let’s clear out the biggest straw men right away:

    • ❌ “Rand said selfishness means hurting people.”

No. She argues that rational self‑interest forbids coercion, exploitation, and parasitism. Predators aren’t “selfish”—they’re short‑range, self‑destructive, and irrational.

    • ❌ “It’s just an excuse to do whatever you want.”

She draws a hard boundary between whim and #reason. Her ethics demands long‑range thinking, integrity, and principled action — the opposite of impulse.

    • ❌ “#Objectivism celebrates cruelty.”

The introduction explicitly rejects cruelty as irrational. Benevolence is not only compatible with #egoism—it’s a natural expression of a rational, confident person.

    • ❌ “Rand denies moral principles.”

She denies sacrifice as a moral ideal. She does not deny #morality. She argues for a code rooted in reality, reason, and the requirements of human life.

If you want to understand the argument instead of the mythology, read the primary source--it’s short, sharp, and surprisingly accessible.

  5. Once I caught a glimpse of an infinitely small, ever-reducing pinhole. It drew me close, and as I peered in concentration’s grip, I fell into a swoon. My side was pained by a lifetime’s chatter—so dense was the voice of billions that it became the silence of the smallest point. What mass is this?

  7. The exegesis of power conjures a malaise that animates the dancing bear. A pacified creature all but diminished; its stomach filled with cheap wine. Media: the last refuge of the spiritless drunk; though the adhan of noon calls, he lies comatose.

  8. The human concept of self is degrading in an acidic environment. Accumulative hostility toward the concept of self-ownership builds
brick by brick the tomb of the individual. Rhetoric designed to chisel at our autonomous self-worth is serving only the cause of power - power that is eating its own vascular system: a metaphor for the consumption of the unique self-creating 'I'.

  10. A toxic idea has become stronger over the last decades in the US. I see it in people dropping their trash left and right, how their treat their public transport, how they cut each other off driving, all the way to the prewident and the government's environmental . The idea is: "What if my actions don't have consequences for me." And then these folks come together and want to "protect our way of life" and "our interests".
