I will say this for X/Twitter - in the brief time I spent looking up reactions to the #TechnoOptimism BS, I learned about multiple terms and “movements” that I missed here, like #EffectiveAccelerationism. That could just mean I need to monitor other topical instances more regularly…
And, for better or worse, it is still the place for detailed instant updates on ongoing events (like Israel ravaging Gaza). But the tone/vibe difference is just so pronounced.
But it doesn’t feel the same anymore.

Seeing all the #effectiveaccelerationism bros push the hype on #LK99 makes me quite skeptical on the actual superconducting properties. Fun story to follow though
