Using #eduroam again for the first time in a few years, and I was surprised to find a visited site that blocked some common ports (like 993/imaps) and didn't offer IPv6. How is it for other folk?

Vandaag weer de hele dag gewerkt voor @ProcoliX eerst in #DenHaag bij een niet nader te noemen internationale organisatie die zich bezighoudt met de internationale rechtsorde. Daarna op kantoor allemaal kleine klusjes voor #opensource toepassingen.

Een #ldap systeem voor een #eduroam toepassing. Wat administratief werk voor ons project met de #SvdJ en wat korte overleggen over het geautomatiseerd uitrollen van virtuele machines op #Proxmox het neerzetten van een multi datacenter #Nextcloud deployment, een #mailserver voor een grote Nederlandse politieke partij en wat apparatuur voor een project over noodcommunicatie met #meshcore

@thibaultmol Works on my end (via #eduroam), but never used the site regularly. Maybe it's about that? In case you missed it, Deutsche Bahn sometimes blocks access from Unix systems, because.

#eduroam continues to expand across Azerbaijan 🌍

Azerbaijan Medical University joined the global eduroam community, bringing the total number of eduroam-enabled organisations in Azerbaijan to 36.

With tech support from the AzScienceNet Network Operations Centre, modern Wi-Fi infrastructure has been deployed across the AMU campus.

AMU students, researchers and staff can now access secure wireless internet on their home campus and at over 44,000 eduroam-enabled locations in 106 countries.

#eduroam continues to expand across Azerbaijan 🌍

Azerbaijan Medical University joined the global eduroam community, bringing the total number of eduroam-enabled organisations in Azerbaijan to 36.

Meine Startbedingungen sind etwas anders: Ich habe das 'ungesicherte' #calyxOS auf dem #Smartphone, bin also schon länger #entgoogelt. Nur es gab immer weniger App-Updates, insbesondere die Banking-App wollte sich jetzt nicht mehr aktualisieren und funktionierte somit nicht mehr.
Root, Entwickleroptionen, OEM-Entsperrung ist alles kein Problem gewesen. Nur die Installation bleibt hängen. Die Firmware-Updates sind mit calyxOS wohl auch nicht mehr aktualisiert worden.
Die Firmware ist auf dem Stand Mai 2025 (März 2026 verfügbar), scheinbar noch für Android 14, während calyxOS schon auf Android 15 ist.
Firmwareupdate habe ich nicht hinbekommen. #e OS kommt bis zu Schritt 9/24 nach https://e.foundation/installer/ danach wird das #Fairphone5 nicht mehr erkannt. Ich muss mal ein paar Foren bemühen... Demnächst mehr!

Bei der Recherche bin ich über den Punkt 'Mobile Datennutzung immer aktiviert' bei den Entwickleroptionen gestolpert. Damit waren dann reichlich Updates wieder möglich: Aurora hatte mehr als 20 Updates für mich im Angebot - nu geht auch das Banking wieder - Ups!
Das ist mir bei Verifizierungsaufgaben schon früher aufgefallen: Über WLAN geht's nicht, auf mobile Daten umgestellt und schon ging alles durch. Traurige Erkenntnis.

Weitere Erkenntnis: Mein Arbeits-WLAN #eduroam geht nicht, wenn die SIM-Karte aus dem #Handy ist! Was werden den da für Daten gebraucht um ins WLAN rein zu kommen? - huiuiui!

A new GÉANT Twinning partnership is underway 🌍

CSC in Finland and Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) officially kicked off a 6-month collaboration focused on expanding #eduroam coverage, developing REN awareness materials, and building long-term ties.

The two teams will visit each other later this year, with Nepal joining the global R&E community at #TNC26 in Helsinki in June.

We can't wait to see what you build together.
