I am a 26 year teacher of Computer Science in my anecdotal experience students who have the most difficult time in CS find critical thinking at the core of their difficulty. In schooling we (yep I take responsibility for this too) teach our students to be derivative and memorization machines. How does one teach creativity, innovation, and critical thinking? Ok #computerscience friends the term parallel processing to my dismay is used in psychology to describe how we divide our attention and process multiple streams of input. I would argue this is not parallel processing as our brains are only one processor and a computer has multiple CPUs (cores) It is a metaphor in psychology that has become confused with a physical reality… In short no a brain cannot multitask. It can only divide attention. #edtooter
