To Experience Wonder is the first book to explore behind the scenes of Edna Staebler's life. At the age of 97, Edna leads an active life at her cottage on Sunfish Lake, where she writes, reads, and welcomes the many aspiring writers who come to visit.

And a few pics from last night's Edna Staebler potluck dessert buffet (including the Edna corner that overlooks her cottage).
Since Rose Murray would have been there (she passed away one month ago), I decided to make the Tres Leches Cake from Flavours of Canada, which she co-authored with Elizabeth Baird.
It was lovely night and so good to catch up with people I've not seen in *ages.*

New Year. New idea...Well, not really a new idea. Although I write about food for publications and whotnots, I missed writing about my own kitchen.
So...I launched a Substack today, on A Day That Really Schmecks (aka Edna Staebler's birthday), what's traditional been my kitchen's new year. There's a recipe for cinnamon rolls, too :)
