Last October, I was hit by the sudden desire to revisit Edmund Crispin's Gervase Fen golden age crime stories, in order, and I started off with the first of his titles - "The Case of the Gilded Fly". Crispin is one of those authors I go back to over and over again; I love his mixture of humour and darker mystery, and the bug got me again recently.

For some unknown reason, I was recently hit with the desire to read some of Edmund Crispin's Gervase Fen mysteries (possibly prompted by the delay in the publication of his complete short stories). I own, and have read, all of his mysteries over the years, love them all, and have written about some here on the Ramblings. But I have half an idea that I might like to revisit them…
