#EdmontonValleyZoo: It’s time for Game 3, and Hula is making waves for the Stanley Cup Final!
Our harbour seal superfan is flipping her flippers for #DarnellNurse, her favourite #Oilers player and defender of the deep (defensive zone, that is)! You might find Hula gliding through the water or watching the game poolside at the #yegzoo, her message is: Go Oilers!
Seal-iously, let’s bring that Cup home!

#EdmontonValleyZoo:
Our #yegzoo Eurasian Eagle Owl Vega is keeping her laser-focused eyes on the puck tonight as the Oilers hit the ice in the #StanleyCupFinal! She’s cheering loudly for her favourite player, #LeonDraisaitl. No surprise, she loves someone with sharp instincts and a serious wingspan.
Let’s go #Oilers! Bring that Cup home!
Claudia: I identify as an owl!

The fate of Lucy, the elephant at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, has long been a hot-button issue. Today in the Senate, I had the chance to speak to Bill S-241, known as the Jane Goodall Act, and to use the complicated story of Lucy as a cautionary tale. With a twist in its trunk. Here's my speech. https://youtu.be/wxF5cN6cvZ0 #Edmonton #yeg #EdmontonValleyZoo #Lucy #SenateofCanada #BillS241 #CAZA #AZA #zoos #elephants #yegcc
Poor #Lucy, held hostage in the worst zoo in No America for elephants.
Her care is suboptimal, cruel and lacking in every aspect of elephant care.
What is wrong with Edmontonians that allow this to continue year after year.
2 sanctuaries in warmer climates in the USA have offered to take her in, all expenses paid.
This would not only save the City of Edmonton millions of dollars, it is the right thing to do.
We have no right to torture animals for our entertainment pleasure.
