@urlyman I think politicians need a new term to describe the aim to cut fossil fuel use. Net Zero has been so weaponised, it now reads 'woke', and can be easily dismissed. I hope Burnham's Comms teams can come up with something catchy to reflect new urgency for action in face of current heatwaves.

Please boost this! I know on Mastodon we are preaching to the converted, talking amongst ourselves, etc. But perhaps we still need reminding to support those politicians in a position to get Net Zero done. Whatever the failings of Labour in UK (I know many on here are sceptical of Burnham), they're in power for now and need support for green agenda.

There is at least now a grudging awareness of what needs doing, thanks to these heroes, and we must support politicians and journalists who push that agenda forward.

If corbyn had accepted that report he could have had that quiet life. It is his own fault, and that of the #farLeft , furious that reality has overtaken the #farLeftFantasy of a 1950s style socialist UK (totally at odds with how the bulk of the population think)
