  1. I noticed that our bougainvillea has found its way to the top of one of our papaya trees creating this image of tropical winter bounty. @gardening #zone10 #Florida #EdibleLandscape

  2. Difficult to photograph, but the pigeon peas are prolific as usual. They are sweet and tender green now. I do my big harvest once they’ve begun to dry. Plantain tree is in the background struggling through the dry season but getting help from the large olla at its roots. @gardening #Florida #tropical #zone10 #gardening #EdibleLandscape

  3. It’s the 5th anniversary of the day that @joeyomahoney and I closed on our house. I felt hesitant about homeownership because of the responsibility and because I’d never taken a loan from a bank before. Now, I see it as an enormous privilege and an opportunity to create a microcosm of the world we’d like to see. #EdibleLandscape #NativePlants #Pollinators #RainwaterCollection #Solar #ChipDrop #KillYourLawn #gardening

  4. Watching my garden bed veggies struggle a bit while the #EdiblePerennials in the landscape flourish pest free, on rain water alone, with little to no soil amendment. I wish I had thought to beef up my perennial garden sooner instead of hyper fixating on seasonal veggies for so long. But by this time next year, we hope to have a food-abundant landscape. #gardening #zone10 #climate #Florida #EdibleLandscape

  5. Decided to harvest the remaining mangos now before the critters get them first. It’s tempting to try to let them ripen on the tree, but I think we’ve shared with the squirrels enough this season. #TropicalFruit #zone10 #gardening #EdibleLandscape

  6. #Spring #EdibleLandscape #Hosta #YesYouCanEatThis

Just a reminder, Hosta is an edible landscape plant. (PLEASE be sure it's Hosta and a variety that's edible!!)
Pick before leaves unfurl. The tender new shoots. Wash carefully, and then sauté for few minutes in butter and garlic, salt and pepper. Similar to asparagus---slightly peppery. Delicious.
