the first bloom on my sunflower.

I was surprised to get a sunflower plant in the packet of mixed "edible flowers" which also had calendula, hollyhock and nasturtium. I low key expected plants in the mix to be 2-3 feet tall/wide.

This amazing entity is easily 8 feet wide at the base and so far over 11 feet tall.

I think the other flowers won't mind the shade as much when it gets really hot here in a minute...

This is an area adjacent to my pond that is full sun, well drained moist soil.

I am actively trying to incorporate more edibles plants in my yard. Here mustard greens and blueberry coexist beautifully with coleus and impatients.

Is Mastodon only for politics? Here is the saga of my beach plum jam, from my front yard to my toast. It came out a little too firm but it’s good. And the bushes are pretty when they bloom.
