  1. ✨Slides on causal inference: Individualizing treatment effects — transportability and model selection

    speakerdeck.com/gaelvaroquaux/

Selecting models for causal inference, choice of variables for best bias-variance tradeoff, and choice of a relevant summary statistics (not risk difference for binary outcomes)

    Presented at #ECMLPKDD2023

  2. I'm in #ECMLPKDD2023:
    Presenting link.springer.com/article/10.1 in room A9i today 2pm
Exciting work on embeddings in databases

Tomorrow in the Causal Machine Learning for Operational Decision Making workshop, I'll be giving a keynote on various results on individualizing treatment effet: how to select models, to choose covariates, and summary statistics

  3. Very inspiring talk by Prof. Mihaela Van Der Schaar (U. Cambridge) on the importance of interpretability methods that go beyond static predictions (time-prediction models, unsupervised models, etc.) and on the power that model interpretability tools have for discovery. #AIMLAI #ECMLPKDD2023 #XAI #ML #AI

  4. #ECML starts today. Politecnico di Torino was quite a maze to navigate and the room for the first workshop I attend (on #interpretability) has two times more attendees than seats...

But so far it's interesting and Prof van der Shaar gives a passionate talk :)

  5. The Data * Mammoths, my group of amazing undergraduate researchers, published another paper: ROhAN: Row-order Agnostic Null Models for Statistically-sound Knowledge Discovery, to appear in Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, special issue for ECML-PKDD'23. See you in Turin! rionda.to/papers/AbuissaEtAl-R #statisticallysound #datascience #knowledgediscovery #datamining #professorlife #ECMLPKDD2023
