Just speculation on my part, but I'm guessing when Mark Gane of Martha & The Muffins wrote 'Echo Beach', he never anticipated it would eventually be played as background music some Saturday in a supermarket.
And we can all be eternally grateful no one decided to bust into their 'best' New Wave dance moves.
