Tried again, found a home. "Art", a grey tabby about seven years old, was not "too needy" for his new owners. Rescued from the Eaton Canyon fires this past January near Pasadena CA, the humane society thinks he was a stray(!)

HRRR rainfall estimates in Eaton Canyon are very high. Actual rainfall (topography has a lot to do with it) TBD. #EatonCanyon #EatonFire #Altadena

Well, apparently any water that comes out of the hills goes all the way out to Long Beach! (old 1939 map of the LA flood control system). The top section there in red is Eaton Canyon and something called "The Rubio Diversion". Basically what is supposed to catch water/debris from the hills above Altadena. If it rains hard enough tomorrow night will see how it does. #Altadena #EatonCanyon

Wow... well, I guess we'll see if that flood control debris basin works. #EatonCanyon #Altadena #history

For #FungiFriday here are some lovely Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) #mushrooms growing in #EatonCanyon. BTW, the local community has a new Eaton Canyon Web site that launched today at www.MyEatonCanyon.com. The site has it's own Mastodon account at @newsie.social@MyEatonCanyon.

I know Wolf's Milk
(Lycogala epidendrum) is a #protozoan, but slime molds USED to be considered #fungi ...that's my story and I'm sticking with it for #FungiFriday. Photographed at #EatonCanyon in #Pasadena, #California.

It's #FungiFriday, but I'm not 100% sure of this specimen's ID. It could be a Turkey-Tail (Trametes versicolor), but the color banding appears more bacon-like than turkey-like. Mmm...bacon.
