In this episode I play a song by The Gentle Readers; I am back on the Eat To Live plan after almost two years away; retirement also leads to engineering what the rest of your life looks like; using the older men in my life as positive and negative examples on how to age; I had a surprisingly rational conversation about assisted living; I have volunteered to help with Reloadio; the first listener who can identify the seam between the two chunks of the show will win a free t-shirt shipped anywhere in the world; I watched the Black Sabbath movie; the change in the social contract about phones in fascinating; capitalism and the short term focus drives me insane; layoffs make me insane; getting laid off changed my entire approach to work;

The weight loss continues. I live in a house filled with snackers so avoiding the processed, sugary and salty stuff is hard but I am mostly avoiding it. I've had moments of weakness but mostly am sticking to the raw vegetables and it is working.
The poker world loves a weight loss bet like "lose 20% of your body weight in a year". People hire trainers and nutritionists. I'm doing straight #EatToLive, a $10 book, and I lost 8% of my body weight in a month eating more healthy than usual.

When I said I eat the same thing every day, this is mostly it unless I am too lazy to put it together. One bowl lasts 2 or 3 days.
I use hummus as the dressing. I used to put guacamole or mushrooms in the big bowl but they tended to get gross faster than the rest so I just add those things to the salad plate by plate.
- spinach
- cucumber
- jalapeno
- bell pepper
- grape tomato
- organic (low sodium) 4 bean blend
- milled flax seed
- raw sunflower seed -
Over the last few years, I've put on weight for obvious reasons. I was walking around with 50 more pounds than I want.
In the past, I have successfully lost weight using the #JoelFuhrman #EatToLive plan. It is mostly raw vegetables, no processed food or simple sugars. Some people call it a "woo woo" diet but how is "eat mostly salads" controversial as a weight loss strategy?
I've been on for 10 days and it is working well. Historically this curve holds for months.
