Israeli occupation forces are escalating settler-colonial violence in illegally annexed East Jerusalem: 14 Palestinian homes in al-Bustan, Silwan face demolition, displacing 120 residents including children under the pretext of lacking building permits that Israel systematically denies Palestinians, while expropriating land for "parks" to complete cultural erasure.
The occupation forces Palestinians to demolish their own homes in Wadi Qadum and Jabal Mukaber, and plans mass expulsion of 40 families in Sheikh Jarrah's Umm Haron community to build 316 illegal settler units on stolen land, severing northern Palestinian Jerusalem from the city center.
This is demographic engineering through systematic home demolitions, forced displacement of indigenous Palestinians, and illegal settlement expansion around Al-Aqsa Mosque - war crimes under the Fourth Geneva Convention over which the ICC has jurisdiction.

[...] These measures of uprooting hundreds of Palestinians on one hand and building large settlements on the other threaten to transform Sheikh Jarrah from a Palestinian neighborhood that is part of the Palestinian space surrounding the Old City into an Israeli settlement that severs the center of Palestinian Jerusalem from its northern sections, leaving beside it only a few small and threatened Palestinian enclaves. Over the years, Sheikh Jarrah has become a symbol and example of the struggle over the character and identity of all of Jerusalem. Now we must return and fight for it again," they emphasized.

"Roland Friedrich, the agency’s #WestBank director, said UNRWA had received word that demolition crews and police arrived at their east Jerusalem headquarters early on Tuesday. Staff have not operated out of the facility for almost a year because of safety reasons, but Israeli forces confiscated devices and forced out the private security guards hired to protect the facility."

Last update: 11:24 ESTMore than 50 international NGOs operating in occupied #Palestine have warned that recent registration measures imposed by #Israel are threatening to halt operations at a time of acute humanitarian need in #Gaza.
On 30 December, 37 NGOs received an official notification that their registrations would expire the next day, triggering a two-month period after which they would be required to cease operations in Gaza, as well as the occupied #WestBank and #EastJerusalem.
The ministry said the ban would also apply to those who "refused to submit a list of their Palestinian employees in order to rule out any links to terrorism".

Israeli forces arrested 7,500 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in 2025, according to the Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies.
At least 600 children, including those under the age of 10, were among those arrested, the monitor said, adding that more than 200 women and girls were taken, too, most of them using the pretext of “incitement” on social media platforms.

Israeli authorities have forced a Palestinian resident in Beit Hanina, East Jerusalem, to demolish his own home, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
On Saturday, Raed al-Rajabi was compelled to tear down his residence which housed more than 10 family members and was built in 2014.
Authorities claimed it was built without a permit.
