A small sample of the many Eastern Water Dragons around campus as the weather warms up.
They all have their defined territories but sometimes the world's slowest territorial disputes occur, whereby an invading party very very slowly encroaches on an existing territory and there is much head bobbing and circling.

From Friday, strolling around Wallsend NSW and encountered this little darling. It sat there posing for a bit, then turned around so that I could get the other side, before we walked passed it. Clearly that spot was its patch of footpath.

The Water Dragons were out displaying yesterday and this provided a good opportunity to illustrate the principle of being at eye level for your wildlife photos where possible.
The first shot isn't at eye level. I was squatting down and the lizard was below me.
