Late Afternoon Walk in Montgomery Arboretum of Native Flora
One mild October afternoon, Bhavna and I decided to spend a quiet evening outdoors, soaking up the last bit of warmth in the sun. When we decided to name our daughter Juniper I ordered a bunch of Eastern Red Cedar (juniperus virginiana) saplings from the conservation dept for us, family and friends.
They came Wednesday just in time to share with our #masternaturalist chapter. Yesterday, we planted three on our own property and potted up a few to take with us when we move in a fewish years. #easternredcedar #juniper

I've now been here on the 'Don for a little more than a year. The pace is slower and the bandwidth lesser, but so is the stress. This seems to be good people having honest conversations and sharing information, like grown-ups.
Anyway, to celebrate and thank you for joining me, here's the beautiful but much-maligned #EasternRedcedar: #native but #invasive in the #GreatPlains, rapidly converting us from #grassland to #shrubland.
