The international edition of our study on the Ahu–Moai systems of Rapa Nui is now available. It presents a network‑based structural model that reconstructs the functional organization of the island’s monumental architecture and its systemic interdependencies.

• The Slave Trade: In the 1860s, brutal slave raids captured over a thousand inhabitants. Those repatriated brought smallpox, turning the island into a "vast charnel-house."• Capitalist Extraction: European traders later burned huts and destroyed crops to force the starving survivors off the land.

The historical reality is not "ecocide," but colonial homicide. Early visitors, like the Dutch explorer Jacob Roggeveen on his flagship, recorded a lush, cultivated island with a healthy population. The Rapa Nui did not commit suicide; they were liquidated by globalized profit-seeking:• The Invasive Vanguard: Ecology was first destabilized by invasive rats that arrived with European ships.

The "ecocide" of Easter Island is a myth (and the real story is darker)
The mainstream narrative of the Rapa Nui—popularized by figures like Jared Diamond—is a "fable of global ecocide" used to blame human nature for systemic failure. In this myth, a "selfish" population overexploited their trees to move stone statues, eventually descending into cannibalism and war. This is a lie designed to glorify the hunter by blaming the lion.

Das ist das finale Argument gegen Flatearther. Die Erde muss eine Kugel sein, denn wie soll die Statue da reinpassen?

Anyway, at risk of overloading their servers, there is a really cool 3D model of all the Easter Island "moai" there. and you can see some stuff that is apparently inaccessible even to archeologists/etc. because of the terrain and sensitivity of the site. Link here:

Unlocking the mysteries of Easter Island stone statues
Easter Island, a Chilean territory known as Isla de Pascua in Spanish and Rapa Nui by native inhabitants, is a remote volcanic piece of land in the Pacific Ocean.
It is home to almost 1,000 giant stone structures known as Moai, sculpted hundreds of years ago in tribute to local ancestors who experts say date as far back as the 13th century.

How #EasterIsland’s giant statues “walked” to their final platforms
Workers with ropes could make the #moai "walk" in zig-zag motion along roads tailor-made for the purpose.
The new field trials required 18 people, four on each lateral rope and 10 on a rear rope, to achieve the side-to-side walking motion, and they were efficient enough in coordinating their efforts to move the statue forward 100 meters in just 40 minutes.
