The City of Houston has launched a “Train Watch” webpage meant to provide residents with real-time information on rail crossings with stopped trains. They have long been a problem, particularly on the east side.

After a 15-year-old Milby High School student was killed by a train on Monday, Houston Mayor John Whitmire called for the construction of a pedestrian sky bridge near the campus.
