  1. 🦅 Eagle Nebula’s Towering Beauty

This cosmic pillar rises 9.5 light-years (~90 trillion km) high!

A stellar nursery where new stars are born.

  5. A tiny dark cloud floats in the Eagle Nebula, known as a Bok globule.
These small, dense knots of gas and dust are some of the coldest, darkest places in the galaxy.
They may be small, but they carry the seeds of stars yet to be born.

  7. Pamiętacie zapierające dech w piersi zdjęcia z Teleskopu Hubble’a? Filary Stworzenia? Pillars of Creation?
    Nooo. Pamiętacie.

Spróbowałem coś tam zrobić z M16 (Mgławica Orzeł). Takie pierwsze moje podejście do tego obiektu. Z małego teleskopu, z balkonu w mieście.

Będę się jeszcze z nim bawić i smażyć.

  12. This newly reprocessed image released on April 18, 2025, provides a new view of an enormous, 9.5-light-year-tall pillar of cold gas and dust. Despite its size, it’s just one small piece of the greater Eagle Nebula, also called Messier 16. The Eagle Nebula is one of many nebulae in the Milky Way that are known for their sculpted, dusty clouds.

  17. Fantastic imagery from the various space telescopes. The latest to celebrate the Chandra X-ray telescope's 25th anniversary.

My favourite has always been M16 (the Eagle Nebula) - first was the image from the Hubble, but every iteration since then has still held fascination for me...
