Ok, after last week's #breakdown, I but the bullet and ordered a complete set of parts to refresh the cooling system on my #E46. A set of original #BMW hoses, new header tank and cap and some original antifreeze. Hopefully the problem shouldn't happen again soon.

@Mark I like the #E46 but the complexity if you want to hard core tune it...
And now they are so expensive to get into for what is effectively a "beat" #BMW at this point unless you pony up for a cream puff.
Even cream puff E46s are a bit of a maintenance hole b/w crappy plastic cooling systems and torn subframes. <jk - maybe - self-aware #Audi #VW owner - don't at me! 😂>
Above is speaking from #M3 perspective. A 330 #e46 is a good car too if you don't need/want an #Mcar but still needy

So, job lined up for this weekend was a gearbox swap in the daily #BMW #E46. Naturally once you start a job, you realize there is more to do, so it's now awaiting more parts arriving before the engine comes out (for the third time). 6 speed box seems disproportionately heavier to manovre than the 5 speed, or perhaps I'm just a bit old to play the grovelling under the car game.
