I've been discombobulated since C died. Much more than I was for A. A ride helped, but a week of drizzly rain kept me off the tracks. I didn't really want to ride, anyway—too full of self pity, sadness, & my own mortality. Wallowing didn't help.🙄
I rode, & thought. 2.5hrs riding, maybe 30 mins thinking? It felt like a lot, but those unthinking spaces, when it's solely the ride, are key.
Anyway, it *was* good.

Hlasování, které na to stejně nemá vliv... jedná se o baterii do eekola, po 6 letech už asi jde do kytek
1) koupit novou baterku za ani ne 12k
- budu mít dvě (kam s tím)
- budu ji mít hned
- mohu každý den jezdit
2) Repase - dražší, ale ECO (jsem tímto směrem zaměřen), možná i vyšší kapacita
3) počkat s tím na zimu, holt to už jezdí jen 70km místo 120km, možná odejde úplně, ale budeš jezdit ... a pak repasuješ

PS: děkuji všem za nápady kam s tím na repas, je úžasné jak se mohou firmy lišit v přístupu, cenu neřeším, ty s divným přístupem jsou kupodivu nejdražší -

Ugh kind of hate that they're lumping all e-bikes in with these assholes. These are the people who ride ATVs and dirt bikes on city streets.
My e-bike is a bicycle and I ride it like a bicycle.
I've felt for a while that police need some sort of enduro squad to chase these people. Or how about some damn drones to follow them home and shit. -

On my #eBike ride today, I got to pet a trepidatious calico cat who ultimately decided I was okay. Then a dog walker came around the corner and my new feline friend was off like a shot. Totally understandable, little pal!

Gestern war ich zum 2-Monats-Einkauf im Nachbardorf.
Das wunderschöne Wetter und die angenehmen Temperaturen ließen mich die Anhängelast von knapp 50 Kilogramm fast vergessen.
Hinzu kommen inklusive Ladung in den Packtaschen noch etwa 40 Kilogramm für das eBike und obendrauf mein "elfengleicher Luxusleib" 😂Insgesamt eine stramme Fuhre :mastodance:

@edd @ascentale @bikenite I look forward to community discussion among various advocacy groups to come up with bettery categories for regulation (wattage is not the only factor in speed and a heavier rider needs more wattage to do hills, for instance), but I agree that a lot of what people are endangered by aren't actually e-bikes but e-motorcycles.

just another related data point.
I bought my #lectric ebike from a corp in AZ, USA for 750$ about 5 yrs ago. It now has 7,000 miles on it and I've spend about another 600$ on replacement battery and tires, brakes etc.
It is amazing that an ebike and some saddle bags can replace most trips by car but I'm lucky and have not need to bring anything home that is big, heavy or far away.

Nach etlichen Jahrzehnten nicht auf dem Rad gesessen, hab ich letztes Jahr damit angefangen. Da ich hier im Flachland bin, brauch ich auch keine Rohloff Schaltung.
Ich habe eine manuelle Enviolo (mit der Trekking Nabe) am R&M Delite, und möchte erstens nie mehr Kette & Ritzel-Paket haben, und werde auch sehr gerne bei dem "Planeten Antrieb" 🪐 Enviolo bleiben.
Ein wirklich geniales System.

Not again? Yes, but different. Today I rode Snaitches, (St H, St Helena firetrail) to Lost World & Bunyan lookouts. St H runs off the Oaks & is an out and back ride. A thru hike a bike is possible, but NPWS asked us not to ride that section, so I don't. Besides, it's a bastard climb out carrying a light bike, let alone a heavy eMTB.
Mostly little used, narrow firetrail, it changes to dual track towards the end, then very overgrown singletrack to the lookouts. 1/2

When all the vanlife types are driving through various countries, do they get turned around or get the van impounded if the vehicle doesn't meet the country's or the EU's motor vehicle standard?

Was reading on new e-cycle classifications in Massachusetts and it occurred to me that cycles probably have more trouble crossing borders than motor vehicles (cars, trucks, vans) do.
There are differences in regulations on motor vehicle equipment between US states and between nations, but I get the impression that they're more inflexible with cycles than cars. But perhaps I'm biased on this.
What do y'all think?
