One of the hardest parts for running my own business isn’t what you’d expect.
I’m dyslexic. I have to manually copy all the addresses that come into Etsy to my couriers website for *every order*, plus write customs/export paperwork for each U.S. line item. I also re-read order receipts at least 3 times.
It’s incredibly tedious and I wish there was a better accessibility option other than checking over and over again and using TTS.

#ScribesAndMakers 5/4. How many songs are there where you know all the lyrics by heart?
#Dyslexic brain here. So none most of the time. Or all, because dyslexia affects recall so the lyrics are in there somewhere.
I can usually remember the first verses ok. Or the first line. If I hear the opening bars. Or if I'm being earwormed.Going off book for performances is a huge struggle.

I am #dyslexic, too. 💃
"… Children do not just hear the diagnosis; they hear what the world thinks it means. … They sense when adults … have quietly made up their minds. It is a terrible thing to do to a child – to make them feel written off before they have had the chance to discover their own brilliance.
Now, as a space scientist and engineer, I meet many children in my science communication work $ I try to instil what I call the 'desire to aspire' in every one."

Targeting people who read left->right (ie EN) and are #dyslexic is it better to have a form or row label
* left aligned (for the average person)
* right aligned (so its harder to read the wrong label to the row)
* it depends on screen size
* tunable maybe?Cisco website was really bad for this in 2010 era, no idea if they fixed it yet.

@UlrikeHahn Uhhmmm... when I got my undergrad degree back in 1986, I just submitted a 70,000 word dissertation (and sat three in person exams for my minor courses, but I don't think they contributed hugely -- I'm not good at exams, which is why I opted for dissertation). These days, that dissertation could be easily faked.
Unless you require hand-written answers in exams, which as a #dyslexic person I couldn't do, I don't see how in-person non-viva exams help much.

Love this! In my research, I discovered Made By Dyslexia's signatures:
I’m #MadeByDyslexia – expect creative thinking & creative spelling.
I’m #MadeByDyslexia – expect big thinking & small typos.
I’m #MadeByDyslexia – expect curious ideas & curious spelling.
All very true about me, as a proud #dyslexic! Now which one do I choose.
