Back on my sourdough nonsense today, after that massive fail last week.
I double checked the maths today... I should just accept that my brain doesn't do numbers well and go back to making sure I double and triple check everything. I did that when I was nursing, because the consequences of getting medication calculations wrong could be very fucking dire.
Oh no...
I messed up the numbers for this loaf of sourdough, and it has a 93.8% hydration.
This should be interesting...
Because of dyscalculia I sometimes make measurement (or amount) mistakes when buying things.
Boyf has always taken this in good graces and has never- not once - taken the piss out of me because of it.
He recently bought a UPS and he *thought* the casing was like 11 cm but it's actually almost 2.5 ft and pffffffft 🤣😂 IT CHONKY !!!

@PhoenixSerenity maths bc 40 yrs later i found out i likely suffer from #dyscalculia (the opposite of dyslexia).
Research into MBTI® type, neurodivergence, and neurodiversity - A report from The Myers-Briggs Company [2024]
This seems to be an interesting and quite recent study that differenciates [in a very respectful way!] between participants that self-diagnosed and those who have an externally validated diagnose.

Today I have gotten up early to put the bin out, rang universal credit again, taken a parcel to drop off point and made dentist appointments over the phone.
I rang UC on Tuesday to tell then my new number, but realised that I’d mixed some of the numbers up, even thought copying directly from my phone 🙄
Going to treat myself plain, nothing on it rice cake 😂

I take 80u per night.
So, each pen lasts 3.75 nights.
I'm gone for 6 weeks, which is 42 nights.
That means I need to take 12 pens.
Is that right?

Beautiful? Adorable? This flesh prison that I’ve come to hate, that’s attractive to you? My body can’t even work right; it sabotages me with pain and horrible feelings in my brain. Crooked spine, struggling organs, I want to get a new one please! I wasn’t built right. The numbers don’t make sense, I can’t focus even on the important things. Trouble understanding social queues, embarrassing myself in public. Is that a joke or are you serious? If you don’t explain things in detail to me I’ll struggle to perform. Why are you mad at me? I’m not intending to be rude, I’m asking you for clarification. Too sensitive; criticism feels like a punch to the gut. What’s the point? I take more pills to stay alive. Watching people my own age thrive while I cower in my room. My body makes me feel like a monster that is trying to replicate being a human. It’s not very good at it.

Fast forward to today.
The same student is now consistently achieving A-B grades due to their increased engagement and participation, and their marks are soaring across the board.
Just recently, they earned their first-ever 'A' in any subject... and it was in Maths!

Last year, during NAIDOC week, I was working with a “difficult” student (according to the school/teachers).
Diagnosed with #ASD, #ADHD, #Dysgraphia, #Dyslexia, & #Dyscalculia, they were facing immense challenges.
Challenges like bullying, feeling inadequate and "stupid", and being so disengaged that they were close to leaving the school system.

Today I got up and dressed and left the house early.. I had my laser appointment at 9.30am, and then was attending an art show at Girrawaa Aboriginal Art Centre.
...except that my laser appointment is tomorrow morning.
...and the art show is on Saturday.
I don't think my dyslexia and dyscalculia has ever so thoroughly kicked my arse before.

*Girrawaa is the Aboriginal Art Centre at Bathurst prison. They're having an art show to showcase the art work of some of the people in prison there. There are going to be framed and unframed works available for sale.
The proceeds from the sales goes to the artist, with 20% being kept by the centre to purchase art supplies (paint, canvases, materials etc) for the artists to use in the centre.
If you're in the area, it's definitely worth checking out!

If I have a pdf that printed at 100% gives an output of 1/3 size - how much do I have to reduce the percentage to print the same thing at 1/4 size?

Co-occurrence of #ADHD, #dyslexia, and/or #dyscalculia sometimes feels like salt on the wound. The underlying reasons that happen are not well understood, but it might be genes that influence common traits across multiple #LearningDisabilities.
