  1. 1319: Very often your best ideas will happen within 15 minutes after you begin creative work. Luck comes early, or is always present; You just have to access that "wavelength", or or as David Lynch says, "Catching the Big Fish". (1/1/2017)

1950. What you want at a 'reset' point is more faith—in anything. Resolutions are a faith in one's ability to follow through. (1/1/2020)

  2. "Aphoristic Pop" based on #dynaxiom 0370, dated ~2002. (The song would end with "Stop It!") a la Utopia.

  3. If the internet existed fifty years earlier, just think how much of history would have been archived and accessible. Is this a good thing for history, or is a better #history made up of things lost and forgotten and then reconstructed? (7/2015) #dynaxiom

  4. You know you have a good idea, or that can lead to a good idea, if there’s room for variation. #dynaxiom #creativity

  5. There can be a bridge and a tunnel, but never both that lead to the same place. Bridges connote a brighter future based on the freedom to cross them, but tunnels, since underground, represent a surreptitious escape from places that close or even destroy bridges. In a stressed civilization you'd find more tunnels and walls rather than bridges. #dynaxiom #mlk

  6. When you promote the idea of democracy, you increase the chances of the rise of artistic movements, as democracy provides the perfect environment for ideas and innovation.

(But Futurism also arose from a "democratic" ideal)

  7. When we talk about music having 'spiritual' qualities, it is the element of serendipity that defines it. #Jazz can have the capacity for 'spirituality' simply because of its improvisatory nature, which can, to some degree, remove the over-analytical mind. #dynaxiom #spirituality

  8. Dynaxiom 1405: There are two basic ways to add cohesion to #creativity: 1) create the work, then serialize; and, 2) create similar pieces in an existing series. This also works in music where you can compose first, then add to a collection (album) or define the framework for the album and fill it in accordingly. #dynaxiom

  9. Sometimes when you realize something isn't the way you thought it was, you'll never think about it that way again. #dynaxiom

  10. The place in which a work appears, whether it be in a gallery, museum, park, street, etc. completes the work, at least temporarily. When you take a work out of a place, it is unfinished again. #dynaxiom #art

  11. Both the #artist and layperson can see the artistic value in random connections between disparate objects or circumstances, but it's only the artist that marries the two, to be seen theretofore as a 'framed' holistic experience that can be viewed repeatedly. #dynaxiom

  12. Music becomes more interesting when you compose and perform with the "ear's eye", i.e. "music as a painting". #dynaxiom #creativity

  13. Everything I do has an ancillary goal of being connected to something else. If I haven't made those connections, or at least noticed them, the work is temporarily inert. It might be 'finished', but unresolved in a perfect sense.#dynaxiom #creativity #curiosity

  14. A piece of art or music is a touchstone for a future context. In essence, it awaits unknown connections and circumstances that might occur in the future--with meanings that the original artist might not have realized. (Always consider the effect the future will have on your work). #dynaxiom

  15. Good luck requires being ready for it. #dynaxiom

  16. The longer you are doing #creative work, the deeper the connections to the past, that can surface in your work decades later. #dynaxiom

  17. A new #dynaxiom draft: Everyone is a sum total of inputs and outputs weighed against others' inputs and outputs.

  18. Very often I'll re-purpose my aphorisms by using them for song lyrics if they sound musical. ("Aphoristic Pop") #songwriting #dynaxiom

  19. Talent is not concerned with age: Someone at age 90 can do something childish if it is a manifestation or expression of talent. Talent wants you to play. #dynaxiom

  20. A new #dynaxiom draft: If you don't know the history of something or someone, everything can be reduced to a mere factoid with questionable veracity.

  21. Very often my aphorisms turn into song ideas. This one uses two of them. #dynaxiom

  22. Is deciding to go a different way an invitation for fate? #dynaxiom

  23. To the degree that most #creative people are always time-shifting, it is perfectly consistent with being ahead of their time, at the same time they are exploring the past.

    #dynaxiom #ontime

  24. There's a timeless part of you that you must return to. You can get there in no time. #dynaxiom #ontime

  25. Time moves faster when you know where you're going and when the future seems certain. But uncertainty can make parts of time move at different rates, and the amounts of past and future are constantly being measured. #dynaxiom #ontime

  26. If you’re fascinated enough you can be good at anything. #dynaxiom

  27. One of the misconceptions about #creative work is that you have to stop what you're doing in order to do it. It can be in a timeless flow, conceived in the Now and resolving itself in the future.#OnTime #dynaxiom

  28. Music always has the capacity to make you do things out of your comfort zone. #dynaxiom
