  1. Part 4: Conclusion,
    When Amazon finally showed up, the nipple/reducers I ordered they sent the wrong ones, I was livid, it just worked I was able to snag a ride to the store, at first I thought we where going to Ace Hardware, but when we walked in the door they said they just closed, that did not sit well, luckily Lowes was right down the road from there, after searching having no luck my brother from another mother wandered off, and happened to find the actual 3/8comp to 1/2mip that amazon was supposed to send me, so now another $12 down the drain and an entire day, I get back home and as I got to the point the unbracket refused to fall off, hot tired and in pain, I tore apart the old leaking faucet grabbed the sawzall and cut the chunk of brass above the sink holding it up to cut as low as possible and just like that if finally fell out, then a little more discomfort a little effort spinning on the new mounting hardware for the new faucet, a little teflon on my new special little fittings, a snug here a snug there, I dropped in my new in sink soap dispenser, went out to the shop turned my water back on, came in to check for leaks and so far so good, fingers crossed as I am now in $212 on a faucet I could not afford and not sure I am covering it, and the physical stress on my disabled body, I desperately need a shower but at the moment I have no strength to move, but at least this disabled man existing in poverty did something today, what did you do;

    Part 3:
    So part of this odyssey I am still waiting a a few more parts to arrive to actually begin, but lets take a moment shall we, I grew up with an Architect that was also a project manager for multi million/billion dollar residential communities, as well built several homes and plenty of higher end remoddles, that said attention to detail was paramount, and early on I developed a true disdain for inspectors, but fully appreciated and still do the standards in which should be followed, how that applies to my "simple" kitchen sink faucet replacement, and please I am not looking to belittle nor look down on anyone here, but omg this is a nightmare, the space is a 10"wide by 20inch tall by 20inch deep, and assuming I was so inclined to remove the disposal again, as I replaced it 2 years ago by myself, the drain is pretty much coming out of the center of the cabinet and rises 4-6" meaning you gain nothing, so where I am as I have yet to kill the water, I have to shut of the supply to my tiny apt, as the valves at the wall are seized and the placement of the cabinet prevents any safe attempt at rectifying that without danger of breaking the pvc in the wall, anyways the nut hold the faucet in place is nearly impossible to get to, and no my basin wrench simply does not fit in the allotted space, see I was going to try and get it ready to simply unhook water lines pull out drop in re hook up and turn the water back on, that is not looking easy at the moment, here is were my past comes into play, people no matter how well intended when they build today, then never ever think about service tomorrow nor the possibilities of growth and aging, it was a battle my father hatted with a passion when dealing with clients, you have to plan at the start for down the road, or you will incur a higher cost of maintenance, repair, expansion and alterations, as this falls on me to try and repair, which I will, had I not existed in poverty and elected to hire an actual plumber to swap out a basic kitchen faucet, the labor alone due to the complexities, would have been $500, and this I have see so many times in my life, because at the start of a project no one ever puts any fore thought into anything, and down the road someone pays for that, right now I am, anyways the whole point is people think before you act, it sure saves headaches down the road, and until I finish this journey I bid you adieu;

    Part 2:
    Great, now I have to wait on 3/8 to 1/2 male to male nipples, as the new faucet is 3/8 female and the supply line from the valves are 1/2 female, and and, I have to shut the water to my tiny apt off because the shutoff valves to the sink are frozen stuck, and no room to replace them at all as the cupboard is butted right up on them, another $10 for parts I don't have but spent anyways, currently this faucet is costing me $200 now, I ordered adjustable wrenches as I don't have any, a basin wrench for the faucet nut, teflon for the threads, silicon in case I needed it, then because this faucet does not support the sprayer, I have a insink soap deal to go in that hole which will actually be far more useful, so now $200 this disabled man existing in poverty did not does not have just to replace a broken faucet that I still need to do the actual work on when I finally get everything else in, hopefully tomorrow, my anxiety is really bothering me over this;

    Part 1:
    Great now my #Kitchen #faucet needs to be replaced, my kitchen sink faucet has had a slow leak for longer than I can remember, but I was always able to find a way to shut it off, the last week not so lucky, have to keep a dish rag wrapped around it, its just enough to make the rag damp in a day, it has been slowly developing an internal leak, and it is now progressively worse, there goes another $125 I don't actually have, and since I don't have a tub, and I drink tap water all day long I really to to fix this, not to mention I have no idea how I will actually replace it, and before anyone asks, yes it is my responsibility to either replace and repair it myself or pay to have it done, that is no happening paying to replace it myself is more than I can afford, no way to pay someone, not looking forward to it but it has to be done, I have a new one ordered sometime this week it will be here, im not looking forward to changing it, the space I have to work in is could barely hold a dell inspiron 530, actually I don't think it would fit at all, I have to take off the garbage disposal first, and then unhook the water lines and then play find the nut that holds the faucet to the sink, all one handed and without any visual ability to see, I cook and clean using it, I need it, still have no clue what I will actually do for #food this month, O yea the hell keeps getting deeper for this #disabled man existing in #poverty;

    You can encourage my continued useless #poetry, creativity and expression of self, #commentary, random thoughts, #philosophy and ideas, and by doing so your helping to feed, house and clothe a #disabled man living in #poverty, $5-10-15 It All Helps, via #cashapp at $woctxphotog or via #paypal at paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=…

  13. Our five year old "commercial technology" washing machine stopped working today. Thanks to DYI repair videos, I was able to run a diagnostic to see the error code and identify the clutch slider as the culprit (of course the manufacturer's website was of no use here).

    I could have ordered a replacement part online for about 50 $CAD but the part design is so bad that I preferred repairing the broken part instead.

    The steel ring around the slider is held with only six small plastic "pegs" about 3mm in diameter. Those pegs broke off from the repeated actuation of the clutch during normal operation (electromagnet exerting an axial force on the steel ring). I drilled small holes in the plastic slider in which I self-tapped 3x4mm set screws (aka grub screws). I slid the steel ring back on and backed out the screws so they would engage in the ring.

  26. This is my current table display, the background was fancy wrapping paper I had and liked. I want to redo it, I have felt, velvet and several other fabrics I can use. Just not sure what would look professional, at the same time as having a wedding vibe. Sorry the picture isn't better, I don't always take the best pictures. #smashingpennies #dyi #tabledisplay #wedding

  32. Obviously I did wear gloves and my work glasses in the case of the ✨forbidden slushy ✨ or any other liquid in the battery splashes/explodes in my face.

    The new battery is ordered and I guess I will see what happens when I put it in. For fun I asked various LLMs what the consensus on the internet is for which battery to get, what to watch out for etc. Most of it was just lies and lots of "Oh yes, you are absolutely right and I shouldn't have said that".
