I take my responsibility to be an informed voter very seriously. I research every single candidate and measure on my ballot as in-depth as the internet will allow, particularly in “non-partisan” campaigns.
Today, as I started filling out my ballot, my neurodivergent ass ran out of dopamine after one too many obscure deep dives about candidates that apparently no one cares enough to cover, and I could feel myself wanting to rush through the rest without doing my due diligence.
So instead, I put my pen down and turned on the tv. We can circle back around to tedious research in a little bit when I have more spoons.
Because when you’re neurodivergent, sometimes being an informed, responsible citizen means watching some “Dancing With The Stars” 💁🏻
