Auf der einen Seite gibt es Tech-Journalisten, die erst seit 2023 oder 2024 im Fediverse sind. Was anderes als Mastodon haben die nie gesehen. Die glauben aber, rein aufgrund ihrer Qualifikation als Tech-Journalisten, also "Profis", absolute, unanfechtbare Fediverse-Experten zu sein.
Auf der anderen Seite gibt es @crossgolf_rebel - kostenlose Kwalitätsposts, der solche Vögel anzuziehen scheint wie Scheiße die Fliegen. Oder die ihn, ich weiß es nicht.
Jedenfalls: Crossgolf ist ein Veteran. Er hat wahrscheinlich mehr vom Fediverse gesehen als die meisten von uns, und er ist schon sehr viel länger im Fediverse als geschätzte 99% aller Mastodon-Nutzer.
Er selbst nutzt primär (das eigentlich scheintote) Calckey, einen Fork von Misskey. Er ist bzw. war aber auch auf- Misskey (@crossgolf_rebel on Misskey)
- noch dem einen oder anderen Forkey, Iceshrimp auf jeden Fall, da finde ich ihn aber gerade nicht
- Mastodon (@⛳ rebel)
- Pixelfed (@rebel, @Mario)
- Friendica (@crossgolf rebel)
- Lemmy (@crossgolf_rebel, wobei die Instanz spektakulär in die ewigen Jagdgründe eingezogen ist)
- wahrscheinlich auch auf WordPress mit ActivityPub-Einbindung (@Rebel, @rebel)
- diaspora* (@Mario P.; damit können außerhalb von diaspora* aber nur Friendica-, Hubzilla- und Socialhome-Nutzer was anfangen)
Was jetzt vor einigen Monaten also passiert ist: So ein Tech-Journalist hat von einem "Mastodon-Netzwerk" geschrieben.
Da mußte Crossgolf sich natürlich einmischen und ihn korrigieren: Es gibt kein Mastodon-Netzwerk. Es gibt nur das Fediverse, das noch so einiges mehr enthält als nur Mastodon, wo das alles untereinander miteinander gleichberechtigterweise verbunden ist.
Nun sollte man erwarten, daß der Tech-Journalist seinen Fehler einsieht.
Statt dessen hat der Tech-Journalist (wie gesagt, qua seines Status als Tech-Journalist) felsenfest darauf beharrt, daß Mastodon sehr wohl ein in sich geschlossenes Netzwerk ist und Crossgolf (der nicht nachweisen konnte, ein IT-Professional zu sein) in aller Öffentlichkeit als ahnungslosen Stümper beleidigt. Crossgolf und alle anderen, die versucht haben, ihn zu korrigieren.
Genau diese arroganten Dunning-Kruger-Opfer sind gemeint. Die sollten zugeben, daß sie vielleicht doch nicht die absoluten Fediverse-Experten sind, schon gar nicht, wenn sie nur Mastodon kennen. Die sollten sich mal darüber aufschlauen, wie das Fediverse wirklich aussieht. Und solange sie sich dagegen sträuben, gilt ein gewisses Dieter-Nuhr-Zitat für sie.
Ebenso diejenigen, die Leute anschnauzen, weil sie über 500 Zeichen am Stück posten und/oder Textformatierung benutzen oder so. Das hat nämlich in Microblogging nichts verloren. Und für diese Spezialisten ist es eine unumstößliche Tatsache, daß das Fediverse einzig und allein für puristisches Microblogging mit maximal 500 Zeichen erschaffen wurde. Und von Eugen Rochko. Das verteidigen sie mit Zähnen und Klauen.
Ich glaube, viele davon gehören selbst zu denen, die Ende 2022 von Twitter nach Mastodon gekommen sind und dann monate- oder gar jahrelang der felsenfesten Überzeugung waren, daß das Fediverse nur aus Mastodon besteht. An dieses reine Nur-Mastodon-Fediverse haben sie sich dann gewöhnt. Es wurde für sie zur Normalität.
Als ihnen dann sehr viel später erstmals ein Eben-gerade-kein-Tröt über den Weg lief, dem sofort anzusehen war, daß er nicht von Mastodon kommen kann, waren sie nicht angenehm überrascht und neugierig darauf, was das Fediverse sonst so zu bieten hat. Nein, sie waren zutiefst verstört. Und sie sind es heute noch.
Sie nehmen alles, was nicht Mastodon ist, als unerwünschte Eindringlinge im Mastodon-Fediverse wahr. Und in ihrem Kampf dafür, daß das Fediverse wieder nur Mastodon wird, wollen sie diese Eindringlinge entweder komplett auf die Mastodon-Kultur und die Features von Mastodon einnorden oder rausschmeißen.
Doch, das passiert. Nur weil man als Mastodon-Nutzer so etwas nicht mitkriegt, heißt das nicht, daß es nicht passiert und unzählige Nicht-Mastodon-Nutzer einfach nur schlecht geträumt haben.
