Por qué las redes sociales nos vuelven jueces exprés sin conocer la historia completa
Caminas por la calle y ves a una persona gritando furiosa en medio de la acera. Lo primero que cruza por tu mente es que te encuentras ante alguien violento, maleducado y con pésimo carácter. Es una reacción casi automática. Sin embargo, lo que tu cerebro ignora en ese instante es el contexto. Quizá esa persona acaba de sufrir un asalto, recibió una noticia devastadora o está defendiendo a alguien. Este fenómeno tan común tiene un nombre en la psicología clínica y se conoce como el sesgo de correspondencia, o error fundamental de atribución. Consiste en la tendencia humana de juzgar la personalidad de los demás basándonos únicamente en una acción aislada, dejando de lado por completo las circunstancias que provocaron esa conducta.
En el ecosistema de las redes sociales, este error de juicio se multiplica de forma alarmante. Las plataformas digitales están diseñadas para la inmediatez y el consumo rápido. El cerebro humano, que por naturaleza busca ahorrar energía y esfuerzo cognitivo, prefiere tomar la información más llamativa y cercana para sacar una conclusión veloz. En lugar de investigar, leer los antecedentes, el contexto o buscar la noticia completa, nos quedamos con el video de diez segundos o el título escandaloso de la publicación. Saltamos directo a la yugular con los adjetivos calificativos y a los insultos porque la pantalla nos deshumaniza y nos hace sentir protegidos detrás del teclado.
A esta mezcla tan explosiva se le une un invitado muy conocido en el análisis de la conducta llamado el efecto Dunning-Kruger. Este concepto explica que las personas con menos conocimiento sobre un tema suelen ser las que experimentan una mayor seguridad falsa y se sienten con el derecho absoluto de opinar como si fuesen expertas. En el mundo virtual, cualquiera que lee un párrafo de tres líneas siente que posee la verdad histórica, médica o legal para linchar públicamente a otra persona sin entender realmente lo que pasa. El problema no es solo la falta de información, sino la incapacidad de reconocer la propia ignorancia, lo que cierra la puerta a cualquier intento de empatía o comprensión.
Para contrarrestar esta oleada de juicios exprés, el primer paso es aprender a pausar nuestro propio pensamiento. Cuando veas algo que encienda tu indignación en internet, recuerda que estás observando apenas una pieza diminuta de un rompecabezas mucho más grande. Pregúntate qué pasó antes de que la cámara empezara a grabar o qué eventos privados arrastra el protagonista de la historia. Dejar de juzgar a la primera no te hace menos crítico, al contrario, demuestra una madurez intelectual y un respeto profundo por la verdad que tanta falta nos hace en la actualidad, hagamos del fediverso un mejor lugar.

Ich gehe fest davon aus, dass Merz das tatsächlich so meint, wenn er sagt, er will das Beste für das Land.
Das erklärt auch seine tiefe Angefressenheit und Enttäuschung, wenn er kritisiert wird. Er empfindet das wahrscheinlich als Kritik an seiner Person, selbst wenn Kritik sachlich bleibt.Nur ist Merz halt leider Dunning-Kruger auf Steroiden und merkt einfach nicht, dass er Vollgas auf eine Klippe zusteuert und dass es nicht mehr Tempo braucht, sondern einen sehr krassen Richtungswechsel.
Das soll jetzt kein Plädoyer für Mitleid werden. Ich denke nur, es ist wichtig, hinter die Fassade zu schauen, um zu verstehen, dass diesen Mann weder Petitionen noch Demos von seinem Höllenritt in die Verderbnis abhalten werden.
Die Ja-Sager, mit denen er sich in Trump'scher Manier umgibt, werden es in jedem Fall nicht rausreißen.

L’effetto Dunning-Kruger ci ricorda una cosa scomoda: spesso chi sa poco tende a sopravvalutarsi, mentre chi conosce davvero un tema è più consapevole dei propri limiti.
Non è solo una curiosità da manuale di psicologia, è un modo utile per capire come valutiamo noi stessi, la nostra conoscenza e le nostre competenze.

But our psychology of "getting shit done" doesn't actually rely on knowing the facts. It's based on confidence. Confidence might include facts or it might not.
Very smart people who know a lot of facts sometimes get choice paralysis and anxiety. IMO this is why we have such a high profilation of Dunning-Kruger. Evolution does evolution things!

🤔 Random thought. I do not mean this in a pejorative way. More anthropologically speaking, in terms of "studying people" and observing their interactions with each another & emerging tech.
– How folks choose to use AI (or not) reveals little glimpses into one's thought process and ability (willingness?) to pay attention to seemingly inconsequential details. Code nuance, so to speak.
– In that way, it is a bit like the phenomena of the Dunning-Kruger effect. That is a fascinating story (link in the comments). Two psychologists posited that without a certain baseline level of self-awareness, humans tend to over-estimate their own abilities.
– I think that tends to compound with AI. Someone can prompt their way to passable results. Which to the untrained eye (vibe-* coder, designer, businessperson) look just like the "real thing."
– Emulating versions of success they have seen others have. Without comprehension. Like me in the 1990s, thinking if I could wear Air Jordans then… Maybe? A half-Asian kid could play basketball at that level.
Such workflows tend to result in some comical outcomes. Those who create the vibe-work present it to others who vibe-evaluate it, and everyone continues along happily until something breaks. That inadvertently places a heavier burden on those who understand the fundamentals, to serve as a backstop against quality control.
I half-jokingly said to another principal engineer friend:

Essentially, the difference between these statements.
1️⃣ "AI writes better code than me. It can keep large chunks of contextual details straight. Whereas I cannot. Ergo, AI is better at writing code than all developers."
2️⃣ "AI writes better code than me. I use it to generate things that appear correct to my eyes. However, levels of human competence exist beyond my own."
