The last thing I want to do is defend DataFarming platforms. But I think it's worth pointing out that this framing - a common complaint among people who work in media - ignores the true nature of the deal with the devil they all made.

This looks like an indirect subsidy to TVNZ. On top of accepting no dividend some years, despite the rules saying the state is many to interacts with SOEs like any private owner.
