  7. Of course he #abused pupils: ex-teacher speaks about Farage

Deakin conferred w/staff in staff room who corroborated accounts of #harassment by #Farage & his fascination with #FarRight, including he'd been #goose-stepping on cadet force marches

“But initially I had heard it from boys,” she said. I was shocked to hear this #Dulwich boy was getting away with this kind of behaviour, & I thought: This is seriously out of order; horrible

  12. And I think perhaps we should strongly consider the kind of moral education that public schools such as #Dulwich gave to its pupils.

What characteristics were encouraged in these fee paying schools? Kindness, generosity, compassion…or just knock them dead competition and a sense of establishment authority?

What happens to a country when it’s governed by boys who were abandoned at the gates of such institutions aged little more than 9?

We saw it play out under Cameron and Johnson.

  17. @londondreamtime

There is a notable lack of snow. (-:

I have been boosting all of the #snow pictures that people have been posting this morning (on nodes where I have accounts). It hasn't come anywhere near #London, if one (only) goes by the attention Londoners are giving it in the FediVerse.

There's probably a tale behind that tree.

  22. Today, we visited Dulwich Picture Gallery (dulwichpicturegallery.org.uk/) with our printmaker daughter to see the Yoshida Japanese printmaking exhibition. I'm in awe of the artistry and skill, especially the prints by Hiroshi and Tōshi. The exhibition is on until 3rd Nov and is really worth a visit.

  24. Quick Chesterton's Fence check for #git: what goes wrong if I allow the question-mark character '?' in refs by patching my git, #dulwich, and other tools to allow it? Like, what kinds of security problems emerge? Why was it forbidden in the original version?

I already have a repo with refs with question marks, and I've already written the patches, so this question is more about what goes wrong if I start sharing this with other people.
