48km done this morning, @ 700m of climbing due to 3 longish, local climbs; Horse and Jockey, Grains Road and then Scouthead. Three of us set off from #Dukinfield but one lad was coughing severely (he's OK now) so they both turned for home soon into the ride. One more was a bit late so I waited for him and he did the first climb with me until he went home, too, just knackered! I felt good and the sun was out so up Grains which is about 7% average. All in all, a cracking morning and the day was topped off by the mighty #MCFC beating The Rags 3-1. #ManchesterIsBlue #Cycling #BikeTooter #BikeToot

We headed north out from Dukinfield through #Heyrod, #Mossley, #Greenfield and #Uppermill before starting the long climb from #Delph up #MarsdenMoor. At the top of the moor we headed west down the fast, but windy, descent over the #M62 motorway before turning left again taking us to #ScammondenDam. From there we headed across country taking in a few 10% plus-ers before hitting the main road that climbed to the top of #CraggVale. Another windy but speedy drop took us the the cafe in #Littleborough for coffee and refuel before the ride home through #Newhey, #Shaw, #Lees and #Dukinfield. Another excellent Dukinfield CC ride, this time to Farm Made Tearooms at #Rainow, with Jane and Paul Nyland, Danny and Emidio. The cafe is in a glorious setting, near the bottom of #BlazeHill. And you get the chance to see #WhiteNancy . The only drawback today was my chain snapping at the bottom of the Climb Of Doom, a.k.a. #Chadkirk. I managed to get that sorted but walked up the climb as I didn't want to risk using my excessive wattage again in case I snapped it one more time. So that's a new chain and cassette I'll be ordering..

Pretty chuffed that I can still get up the 15%ers (and steeper!) in my 60th year and the @orrobikes Terra C helped, too.
