Как утверждают психологи «все проблемы человека происходят из детства» — все что не дали родители в юном возрасте потом обязательно проявит себя во взрослой жизни. В моем, весьма специфическом случае такой нереализованной мечтой детства долгое время оставался.. компилятор Watcom , дорваться до которого удалось лишь спустя почти тридцать лет. Рассказываю об этом удивительном проекте.

Bobby Prince has died.

He was the musical face of the DOS era, with iconic compositions for games such as the Commander Keen series, the Doom series, and Duke Nukem 3D. While he hadn't been very active in the past 25 years, many people remember his music, and some levels of Doom I and II still instantly evoke the distinctive AdLib sound of his tunes. A great loss!

Having replayed #duke3d for the whateverth time, I think #ionFury actually holds up better. Obviously the latter has the advantage of decades of discourse around level and encounter design, but it's also less gross in its humour while still feeling delightfully crass.

The collection is coming together! Finally have the hardware to validate my collecting #retro PC games. I used to play #duke3d religiously and it’s one of the games I’ve missed the most. Right vibe right time.

The #killaton collection was an insane amount of content when I came from the shareware disc pictured here (the original I had when I was young). I bought the collection (3 discs) off of eBay just recently for a modest price.

Time for some gaming this weekend I think!
