Habe mir gerade zum ersten Mal seit 35 Jahren eine Tastatur bestellt, die nicht von #cherry ist. Offenbar ist es nicht möglich, eine Tastatur mit MX blue Schaltern von denen zu kaufen. Jedenfalls nicht in Europa. Vielleicht sollten die mal ihre Produktpolitik überdenken. Dann klappt's vielleicht auch wieder mit dem Gewinn. Habe jetzt eine #ducky bestellt. Wenigstens hat die blaue MX-Schalter von Cherry.

Hey, #MechanicalKeyboard people! I just got myself a #Ducky One X wireless mechanical keyboard. As a #screenreader user who finds myself constantly running out of keyboard shortcuts, multi-level actuation sounded really exciting to me. Unfortunately, the browser-based programmer at duckyhub.io is entirely inaccessible. Apparently it uses a standard called #QMK or something? I don't build mechanical keyboards; I use them because I love the feedback, so I'm not deep enough into the hobby to know much about this. A browser-based programmer gave me hope that programming would be #accessible, but at least with the official website, that hope turned out to be false. So before I return this thing, do these standards mean there might be other software I can try to program the keyboard, to see if it's more accessible for me? #a11y #keyboard

...might be the title of the detailed article I want to write about this... once I have my site up and a few more ducks in a reliable row.
For now, just look at my pretty multicoloured switches:
• Yellow: Kailh Speed Gold (clicky)
• Purple: Kailh Box Crystal Royal (tactile)
• Brown: MX Cherry Brown (tactile)The short, short, version (Spaceballs, anyone?) is this: yellow requires extremely little force and activation distance and includes a satisfying "tap" sound rather than the usual click-click, purple lets you know you've hit it and you don't have to bottom it out, brown are the modifiers you hold so you're going to bottom them out anyway - you could even use linears there but I prefer at least a little feedback. The browns have less activation force and feedback than the purples, making them smooth and easy to use.
In the full article I intend to go into a lot more detail with my explanations behind the arrangement. In addition, this is only my first draft arrangement after significant design. Time will tell if it lives up to my intention.
This setup makes for an extremely satisfying, not too noisy, electric-typewriter kind of experience, and is ideal for typists and programmers.

Wow, I do have a problem. After some disappointment with #Ducky keyboard, I've switched to #Keychron V3 and I loved this keyboard and the switches. After getting a wrist stand I've brought back the typing speed back (the keycaps are pretty high)...but...it was a TKL layout and I realized how much I actually use the num block, especially for IP address and the num_enter key...also I really missed a volume contol (not with fn+..., but "natively")...hence...Keychron V6! :)

Wow, I do have a problem. After some disappointment with #Ducky keyboard, I've switched to #Keychron V3 and I loved this keyboard and the switches.
