The thing I like most about #DublinPride is that it seems to have given people a license to let their inner freak out for the day, even if that just means wearing those mid-shin purple stripey socks that you bought but could never quite bring yourself to wear in public. More power to you, sir.

And later, as dusk fell - keeping that same Dyke March spirit alive - the scenes on Parliament Street, in the shadow of City Hall, were off the charts epic, riotous, anarchic joy, celebration, and defiance.

Meanwhile, Dublin Dyke March was AMAZING.
THOUSANDS of queers, dykes, trans peeps, non-binary folk, and all/some/none of the above taking over the streets of Dublin, and re-capturing the true spirit of Pride - protest, joy, solidarity - and the theme of the event, "Resist and Persist."

This is long overdue, and a welcome change to have convictions in Ireland under a Victorian law for sexual activity between men *disregarded* rather than *pardoned* as was an earlier legislative proposal.
Still, the proposed statutory requirement that people apply, prompting a "review" seems overly bureaucratic - why not disregard all such convictions under the 1861 law?

Seems like yesterday's Dublin Dyke March went really well! Several hundred attending, proper protest vibes, and strong intersectional solidarity. ✊🏼
I was devo to miss such a historical event - hopefully the go again next year.
(It's a pity they seem to only be on Zuckergram, though, it hasn't been easy finding that out.)
