  1. It's #MapMonday !
This map from the Dublin City Surveyors Maps 1695-1827 collection was created in 1780 and depicts lands at Ballycullane and Grange, in 6 numbered lots, with acreage given in a separate reference table.

The Dublin City Surveyors Maps, 1695-1827 collection documents the development of the Dublin City Estate within the original walled city.

  4. Dublin’s iconic Spire of Dublin, also known as the Monument of Light! Standing 120m tall on O’Connell Street, this sleek stainless steel monument has become a must-see landmark since 2003. Its minimalist design beautifully reflects the sky and surrounding cityscape, especially on a classic rainy day. 🌧️✨

  5. The survey states that 65% of people who visit #DublinCity between 7 and 10am are there for #shopping, not work, when most shops are closed. They then surveyed people in the main shopping districts to get this stat. It's like surveying people at the West End and stating that most people travel to #London to see a show. Or surveying people at Liberty Island and stating that most people travel into #NewYork to see the Statue of Liberty.

  6. 7) Interesting article in the #IrishTimes today about the rezoning of land near #Dublin's City Center.

I note two mentions of nearby residents being concerned about how rise development with one comment suggesting all development should be kept at 2 floors or under.

Does that mean 3 floors constitutes a high rise? That seems a little absurd. Am I off base on this?

  7. We've had months of the Gardaí actively protecting far-right assholes, and mainstream media downplaying their existence and antics, and now they're attacking the Gardaí themselves. Gee who could have predicted this extremely predictable consequence for these actions.

  8. Just finished reading The Sackville Street Caper by Alan Nolan. Highly recommend for the young people in your life or, if you're like me, people who like a good book. You can read my review here:

If anything, you'll learn the importance of the elephant of surprise!

  9. Folks is there any way to declutter #Dublin streets or is this something we just have to accept? Some crossings, including new ones, have so many poles it’s laughable.

DLR and Kilkenny seem to have new crossings with less #footpath clutter - this is really actively making the city uglier and less #pedestrian friendly.
