played some #tribes aerial assault in #pcsx2 because i saw there was a pretty thriving community for it online... the bots smoked me. i think i'll stick to single player.
also, the #dualshock4 controller with the official back buttons module is really nice to use with games in pcsx2. improves ergonomics when combined with the emulator's ability to remap the normal controls. helps with aging button maps.

Long shot, but does anyone know if the Lithium Ion battery inside a #PS4 #Dualshock4 (I know there are two different connectors) has charge protection circuit built-in or does the controller handle all that.
I am toying (sic) with the idea of fitting a non standard replacement battery.
I may bodge a couple of throw away vape cells together. -

Is #TOTK reliable to play on the #SteamDeck yet lol. I've completely abandoned my playthrough of it on the #Switch, and feel like starting over sometime just so I could get thru it at some point and start watching videos/reviews of it without having anything spoiled.
I know I could just continue playing it on the Switch, but it's so much more frictionless to play it on the Steam Deck instead where most of my other games I own are + the advantage of being able to use my #DualShock4 and #DualSense controllers instead of the god awful #Joycons. -

First impressions using the #GuliKit KK3 on the #SteamDeck: ......... pretty shit. Lots of periodic, consistent delay or rather, skipping (?) going on with the (left) stick(s). Navigating thru the #SteamOS UI, horizontally or vertically with the left stick would sometimes but regularly, suddenly produce an extra step i.e. move left stick to the right once, moves the UI to the right twice, same with left/up/down.
Pretty freaking weird, seeing how I've never had this on the #DualShock4, #DualSense, or the #XboxOne controller. This is while using the USB dongle, which is really nice to have, and post-calibration. Need to test further tho.
Update: this issue might have been caused by using the KK3 via its wireless dongle (with the Deck). Perhaps more specifically, it might have been caused by using the wireless dongle, while the dock also has attached to it another wireless dongle for my Logitech mouse - haven't tested disconnecting it tho, and using the KK3 on WiFi alone. Switching to use the KK3 via Bluetooth seems to have mitigated the issue. -
I've grown up with #PlayStation controllers all my life, from #PS1, to #PS2, #PS3, #PS4, and even without owning/playing a #PS5, its #DualSense controller. My fav has got to still be #DualShock4 - that thing is so light and thin, yet slaps and has not shown its age at all. They last seemingly forever too from my exp, only complaint is ofc it using MicroUSB instead of USB-C, due to its age.
I bought an #XboxOne controller a few years ago and barely used it bcos I had issues with it... on fuckin #Windows lol. Recently got it out of my chest to test it with #SteamOS. My take is: its sticks both the sticks themselves and their placement are just... meh compared to PS controllers. Their triggers are okay, the triggers on DS4 for instance aren't perfect either but I'm just more used to them so there's a bias there. Its three "menu" buttons are at the wrong places lol compared to DS4. Its D-PAD THO freaking slaps, prolly the best I've ever used.
My biggest issue with it is its battery. While it's nice (I guess) that it uses replaceable AA batts, they don't last very long, and charging them (given that you use a lithium pair) can be a bit troublesome, seeing that they last shorter than DS4. Another issue specific to SteamOS is that for whatever reason, while it works perfectly on the #SteamDeck controls itself or any of the PS controllers, #Steam + A (X on PS) combination just doesn't work 99% of the time with the Xbox One controllers. Another, bigger quirk that happens on my Steam Deck (and from what I could recall even on Windows), is that upon bluetooth connection, it won't work right until 1+ min or so. Before then, it seems to have connected but nothing works, and you'll have to wait until it vibrates twice before it would then work as expected.
All in all, weird but cool (I guess) pair of controllers. As much as I kinda like it in its own way, I wouldn't mind selling it off (or shelve it if I have the storage) and replace it with maybe a #Switch Pro controller if they're any better. -
#Bluez (#bluetooth) on #Linux has been kinda ass lately. Previously it went through regressions which caused some game controllers to no longer work on BT such as #DualShock4 and #DualSense when they were perfectly fine before. Just upgraded to
5.71and now my Bose QC45 stopped working on BT too.
Update: Solved by forgetting and repairing the device, which still isn't ideal but glad that worked. Will need to test if the issue reoccurs upon next boot, otherwise I probably will either use Timeshift to go back, or simply downgrade all thebluezpackages.
Another update: At least the update seems to actually have fixed the DualSense issue so that's nice! Haven't tested, but I expect connection issues with DS4 should be fixed too. -

What does this even mean? I managed to get the controller into pairing mode and iOS noticed it immediately. Selecting it for pairing seemed to work and the controller was connected for a second or so, then disconnected and this popped up. What controls exactly am I supposed to use? Just a random button? Such utter shite, this Blutooth thing.

This is really bugging me lol cos so far all my debugging seems to show that I should be able to pair with these controllers via bluetooth but they still just couldn't.
I've verified that they do work on #EndeavourOS/#ArchLinux, but somehow not on #Fedora or rather #UBlue/#Bazzite. Both are using seemingly the same version of the #Linux kernel. The only thing indicating/pointing towards the issue are these logs but googling them returns nothing useful/relevant.
Until I manage to figure this out, I'm left with a really nice desktop but not able to use it for couch #gaming/entertainment.bluetoothd[988]: src/service.c:service_probe() input-hid profile probe failed for 7C:88:DE:8C:03:40 bluetoothd[988]: profiles/input/server.c:connect_event_cb() Refusing input device connect: No such file or directory (2) bluetoothd[988]: profiles/input/server.c:confirm_event_cb() Refusing connection from 7C:88:DE:8C:03:40: unknown device
Bluetooth connection to my Logitech K380 keyboard (which requires a PIN) was successful. Connection to my #DualSense and #DualShock4 controllers fail.
RE: https://firefish.social/notes/9j1mkjr4aijpfdua -
Been setting up and testing #Bazzite (which is essentially #UBlue/#Fedora with a #SteamOS like experience). Haven't really gotten to gaming on it yet but for general desktop use and content consumption, I've been loving it.
One big issue though, it's not able to pair/connect to any of my controllers via #bluetooth that I know do work perfectly on my #EndeavourOS/#ArchLinux PC as well as my #SteamDeck. These controllers include the #DualShock4 as well as the #DualSense.
Pairing them in #gaming mode would show as if they're paired successfully, and they do get in the paired list, but they couldn't stay connected at all. Every time it "connects", it doesn't really connect (not usable) and it'd disconnect after 1 second.
Pairing them in desktop mode would give an error saying that the setup wizard or something like that had failed to complete. They do still get added into the paired list, but gives similar behaviour when attempting to connect to them.
Any ideas? -
okay #PC #gamers I've got a good one for you
Have you noticed a lot of ports such as #ConanExiles #Spacelords #MetalGear Solid V or #Cyberpunk were optimized for 360 controllers and everything feels bad?
I made a #Steam profile for that. steam://controllerconfig/436180/2991032121
I think it's pretty good so give it a spin and tell me what you think.
It's basically oversized but fine tuned antideadzone for the #Dualshock4 which in my opinion is the best until solid state pots become the norm

Целью моей было играть в кроватке.
Dualshock 4 подключается к телефону по Bluetooth.
Для подключения к PS4 попробовал PS Remote play и Chiaki.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playstation.remoteplay
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.metallic.chiaki/
На первый взгляд оба приложения работают хорошо, кроме того что официальное теряет геймпад в одной игре.
Попробовал я поиграть в несколько разных игр. Первой была Steins;Gate Elite. Таким образом читать ВНки одно удовольствие.
Второй была Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Вполне можно играть, но очень мелко на моём экране.
И последней была Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.
