  1. I really want to erase the last bit of #windows in my home, the Windows 10 partition in my #dualbooting desktop computer, but there are still two games I can't get to work in #linux and those are my completely legally downloaded copies of #thesims and #thesims2. I can buy the anniversary editions on Steam but that would involve giving EA more money than it deserves. Does running them on a separate laptop in #windowsxp count as sticking it to the man? #did #digitalindependenceday

  2. 🤖🔧 Ah, the perpetual dream of dual-booting #Android and Linux—because why settle for one broken system when you can have two? This masterclass in unnecessary #complexity is perfect for those who think "troubleshooting" is a fun weekend activity. 🚀💥

    - Teclear: start ms-cxh:localonly

Con esto te saltas la creación de la cuenta de Microsoft online y creas un usuario local en el ordenador.

    Mano de santo.

  4. You know what would be really great for safe #DualBooting?

A half-height 3.5" bay module with room for 3 SATA or NVME SSDs and a pushbutton mode switch in the front.

In mode 1, disk 1 would be read/write, disk 2 would be read-only, and disk 3 would be read/write
In mode 2, disk 1 would be read-only (or possibly read/write), but time-delayed to receive power 1 minute after poweron, and disk 2 and 3 would be read/write

Disk 1 would be your windows boot disk, disk 2 would be your Linux boot disk, and disk 3 would be either NTFS or exFAT data.

This might also be doable as an external enclosure, but I'm not sure how OSes feel about installing a bootloader on what appears to be a USB mass storage device. Maybe eSATA, but I don't think I've ever seen an actual eSATA port in the wild.

  5. Updated status on the great #Linux install: After battling with some video glitches, I #distrohopped from #Kubuntu to #KDENeon to #LinuxMint. Still can't run #Overwatch on this machine, but there could just be too many variables. #Motherboard? #CPU? #GPU? #Drivers? Could be any of them, or a combination.

I'm currently #dualbooting. That will do for now until I can get Overwatch running.

  6. ... i should dual boot rooted android on my laptop for no useful reason...
do x64 versions of android even exist anymore?

  7. Thinking about installing Linux Mint for dual-booting purposes. However, I might need at least 500 GB to make room for Linux and Libre software. Any thoughts, recommendations and suggestions before installing?

  8. If you have dual boot with Windows and Linux, you will probably want to access files from Windows to Linux and vice versa. By default, Linux can read the Windows partitions (FAT and NTFS), but Windows can't read the Linux partitions (EXT 3/4) without any external software. This brief guide shows you how to access Linux partitions from Windows 10 and transfer the data from Linux partitions to Windows using a freeware named Linux reader.

Linux reader is software that allows you to access files and folders on Ext, UFS, HFS, ReiserFS, or APFS file systems from Windows.

  10. I installed (with and ) on my new ! (Alongside Wind*ws, which I do not use at all, but will keep around on a small partition, just in case). It will replace my antique , running , as my daily workhorse. Made an pie 🥧 to celebrate. :fedora:

  11. I'll be in a need to employ full disk encryption on a a laptop with an SSD + HDD storage.

The tricky part is - it'll come with Windows 10 pre-installed, and I'll need to dual-boot it with Manjaro.

Anybody knows if stuff like that has been done before?
