Inspireret af roman, som jeg netop har tygget mig igennem.Inspired by novel, that I've just gotten through. If you know, you know.

Subglacial Microbial Life on Earth and Beyond https://asm.org/Articles/2024/February/Subglacial-Microbial-Life-on-Earth-and-Beyond
"Jill Mikucki, Ph.D. studies one such analog site: Blood Falls in the McMurdo #DryValleys of #Antarctica. There, a briny, #subglacial #groundwater #ecosystem leaks iron-containing #brine to the surface... Mikucki has been working on subglacial environments for over 2 decades but is still stunned by some of her team's discoveries... the #microbial cells grow very slowly under the ice, possibly taking a year or more to divide."

I'll do a few more tag-heavy posts as an extension of my #introduction as I rebuild my network here.
I currently work as a #postdoc at NAU where I handle #GeospatialData for a project studying the #DryValleys in #Antarctica. Prior to that, my #dissertation was focused on studying #periglacial patterned ground using #drone #photogrammetry. All of that fed into a broader analysis of the #cryosphere using patterned ground on #Mars to better constrain the history of water #ice on the Red Planet!
