  4. It's October, which means it's almost #Thanksgiving here in #Canada. [1]

One of the traditional meals at Thanksgiving here is turkey. And I thought of that because I roasted a chicken this week. More specifically, I thought about how magical it is that many #chefs and #cooks and plain old folx can carve a #chicken or #turkey and have it come out as beautiful, even slices of white #meat, and lovely whole #drumsticks or wings, or what-have-you.

Because when I carve a bird, it looks like I did it with a #chainsaw. Or possibly a #lawnmower.

[1] Yes, it's ~6 weeks earlier than USA Thanksgiving. For much of Canada, the only harvest we could be grateful for in #November is #snow.

    Edit: fix late-night thinko/typo.

Describe something unusual/interesting about one of your characters’ looks or style.

Sylvia always wears long stockings that reach down to the back of her knees, whatever the weather. She often stows her drumsticks in them.

  13. Can't believe I've been with the TASO #orchestra for 15 years. Which means some of those sticks are more than 30 years old 😅 I think I was a better percussionist in my teens, but I certainly have a deeper appreciation for the music & the playing as I got older. Here's to the next 15 years! 😆
