I've been thinking of building a platform for my eDrum kit so that less noise goes into my apartment floor. I want something that I can take apart or fold up easily so that I can store it when not in use.
I've spent the past week or two looking at different hinges and contemplating how they'd stay open, then this morning I had an epiphany: I can just do a few separate, disconnected sections placed next to each other.

A little upgrade for our Roland TD-1K electronic drum kit that we bought back in 2020.
Gained a few extra bars and clamps off eBay and managed to separate each individual drum element to one side of the kit.
This solved the issue of the cymbal hits triggering the toms or vice versa when two elements were too close together.
Now it plays even better. And looks a lot more compact.

Since it's juuust about still Thursday here I thought I'd whip out this gem for #ThrowbackThursday: fellow tooters, let me present to you Parental Expectations in a single image from my childhood.
I still to this day have no idea where this #drumkit came from because we never had any money so dad most certainly didn't buy it.
Anyway, I cannot play #drums and I do not wear frilly dresses so I definitely STILL disappoint, heh.
