  1. I'm playing Drop Duchy, which is a roguelike based on tetris but also not quite. Instead of lines (although they give you bonuses), you need to place terrain and building tiles in a strategic layout to farm as much materials and battle units.

During a run, you collect building cards and use the materials to upgrade them. And as you progress through the runs and get achievements, you unlock new cards and other stuff~

    It's addicting! 😊

  2. Ditched off like five games from my 'check out' list last night alone; if it doesn't grab me inside ten minutes it's gone. I ain't got that time anymore.

I did however land on #DropDuchy and I suck at it. However, I'm trapped in a caravan and we've not got internet so it's this or staring at my caravan neighbours and I sure as shit ain't doing that.

In all seriousness, it's fun. The combat portion of the game makes absolutely no sense to me, but that aside, I'm having fun.

  3. A major deckbuilding mistake in #DropDuchy but I managed to win against the final boss (the Dungeon) with The Order (the third faction type) anyway.

I added (and even upgraded) the "Vantage Point" card just before this battle. It produces soldiers based on fields or grassland adjacent to mountains. But, as the final board shows, I didn't have any grassland (you remove a terrain type each "act") and didn't include any fields! A complete waste of a valuable card slot.

The tile layout on this last round was bad too -- the forest got broken into two areas that didn't connect, limiting the Ranger Base's effectiveness. But the core engine (create lots of faith!) was working well.

  4. My first win with the Republic in #DropDuchy. (It's sort of a cross between a city-builder and Tetris, with a rock-paper-scissors style battle at the end of most boards.)
