(apologies for the delay, found out screenshot tool I use for Chrome to bypass encryption, has been disabled by Amazon for Prime Video, so now I have to submit a very long bug report to get that fixed, I don't think dev knows that Amazon has blocked the tool)

There is a screen cap tool that can bypass encryption without turning off hardware acceleration on Chrome. But with encryption turned on, the screen cap tool acts a bit sluggish and can’t capture every frame.

Unfortunately this meant worst fears confirmed, and came true in last few days: encryption DRM has been turned on for ESPN+ stream, meaning screen cap is no longer possible on iOS or iPadOS or on Safari on Mac.

Pondering the best way to get books while dealing with the #DRM cult.

I have a #Kindle so honestly as long as I get just books it's probably not gonna be a problem unless I buy Manga and Comics in Linux at least.

I wish there was a more Linux friendly way to do this, but so far there isn't.

I am also working on getting my Calibre library cleaned up and the Metadata added and embedded as much as possible.

What I really need is either to not buy from a DRM based buyer or suck it up.

But that's really the biggest issue we all have isn't it.

Trying to get an install of Kindle for PC working in Wine today. You would think something like it wouldn't be garbage in Wine but apparently it is.

Well, Bad News……

Latest YouTube app update adds encryption to NFL Sunday Ticket Feed, meaning if you are on iOS and iPadOS, screenshot is now impossible.

To screenshot, you have to use Chrome on Mac with hardware acceleration disabled to block OS’s DRM encryption feature.

Well, Google has done one thing right about Sunday Ticket already on YouTube app on mobile: YOU CAN SCREENSHOT THE GAME, THE FEED IS NOT ENCRYPTED!!!!!!! (Except when connected to external display, then it turns on encryption)

(On YouTube TV App, entire app is encrypted so you can’t screenshot at all unless you have a Mac or PC)

So unfortunately looks like NBC Sports App ALSO started putting encryption into their video feeds, meaning if you are trying to share screenshot from the app, it’ll be blacked out.
