  1. Day 18 of #30DaysWild

    #DriveByBotany of #PavementPlants

Met friend for tea & errands.
On the way home, I drive up a short stretch of suburban road with an abundance of pavement plants, some of which are native. I saw:

    Feverfew
    Evening Primrose
    (on the sunny side)

    Convolvulus
    Field convolvulus *
    Campanula poscharskyana
    Hawkbit spp
    (on the shady side)

    * Instead of roughly even radial stripes of pale pink & white, this was mostly a vivid sugar pink.

  2. Day 16 of #30DaysWild

Drove the same route of 10 miles to visit & help Mum as previous #DriveByBotany.

In addition to those previously listed:

    Ragwort
    Green alkanet
    Chicory (a favourite) (Cichorium intybus)
    Buttercup spp
    Ladies' Bedstraw (Galium verum)
    Toadflax aka Butter & Eggs
    True Valerian
... best of all, I drove along an avenue of linden trees in flower and the scent was heavenly:)

  3. Day 1 of #30DaysWild

Visited Mum to help with cat-wrangling & errands, so I chose #DriveByBotany .

In 10 miles of South Buckinghamshire urban, suburban & rural roads, the following #nativeplants are flowering:

    Field poppy
    Bramble
    Elder
    Hogweed
    Honeysuckle
    Dog rose
    Yarrow
    Mallow

  4. Day 24 of #30dayswild

Drove a different way to visit Mum, so today was #drivebybotany

Motorway & trunk road verges on chalk, then smaller roads on alluvial clay.

    In vague order:

Long patch of vigorous volunteer hollyhocks on central reservation (median strip?)

    Teasel, oregano & pyramidal orchids

Chicory: such a heavenly blue 💙

  5. Day 15 of #30dayswild

Out in the car to visit a group of artists & makers taking part in #Bucks Open Studios. I had to miss this annual event last year when I was mending from a #TKR .

#drivebybotany again, featuring the #pavementplants and #wallplants along a long residential road:

    Field poppy
Erigeron karvinskianus aka Mexican fleabane (garden escapee)
    Wall germander
    Hollyhock (garden escapee)
Eschscholtzia California aka California poppy (garden escapee)
Centranthus ruber aka red valerian (garden escapee)
    Yarrow
    Field columbine

  6. Day 4 of #30DaysWild

Drove cross-county to visit Mum & collect pills for her cat, Nelly.

Perfect opportunity for a favourite activity: #DriveByBotany .

Today I focused on verges. In flower were:

    Field poppy
    Field bindweed
    Agrimony
    Ragwort
    Meadow buttercup
    Green alkanet
    Field scabious
    Field chamomile
    Yarrow
